The default VP 109s have pretty small gunsight masks, to increase them download this mod
New Revi Masks For Combined Bf-109 Cockpits Pack V4 https://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,1947.0.html
To install, drop all the individual folders, e.g. Bf-109E-7, Bf-109F-2 etc from the zip file into IL2_1946\#SAS\COCKPIT\3do\Cockpit
Now it's much better
