Looking forward to this build Andy.

By the way that lineup of German tanks looked awesome!

Thanks for kind words, old chum.  ;)

I'm trying to get bases done for completed vehicles, this one's for the Panzer IV.

Well...I'd originally intended to have some infantry watching the panzer pass by, but the base is too small - might get away with it with a smaller tank. Quite pleased with the end result, though...

Did another base for one of the Panzer IIs while I was slopping wet mud around...

I might have to invest in some shelves soon... ;D

Andy'
That Mk IV (F) at Victory Park looks good enough to drive off, it appears to be in
amazingly good condition.

IAC, your latest line up of German Armour is Erste Klasse! 8)

Thanks for kind words, Flamer  :)

Well, stuck in the old working/sleeping routine for a couple of days - then it's time for the next raid on the stash. In the continued absence of a suitable base for the Challenger, I fancy finally getting a Soviet truck done...but you should know my easily distracted ways by now.   ;D

Stay tuned, back soon with more miniature mayhem.  ;)

Another (very simple - even by my standards) base done. Tamiya Cromwell with Black Dog resin stowage and cammo tape set that I did quite a while ago. I felt a little guilty about chopping up such a beautiful, well-fitting kit and throwing the turret away. I could get around to chucking some filth under the mud guards, but I'm torn between leaving it alone as a reminder of the way I did things things then.

Thanks as always for looking in, back soon with more dioramic dithering.  ;)

Right then. After a day's plastic procrastination over exactly which Soviet truck to start, my nephew decided for me...

...one Tunisian Tiger just like the one at Bovington coming right up!  :))

Back soon with more miniature mayhem.   ;)

Apologies for my absence, chums - real life took a turn for the worse, and I haven't had much time to myself lately. However, I know a lot more about Tiger 131 than I did a couple of weeks ago, and am pretty sure that the Tamiya offering will make a decent interpretation of the tank prior to capture in Tunisia once I've had at it.

Of course, a quick trip to the local model shop for essential supplies resulted in an enlarged stash, but I did get lucky with a set of photo-etched engine grilles for the Tiger. The Kubelwagen may or may not end up on the same base as Tiggy.

Anyway, let's get that Tiger box open and make a start...where were we? Oh, yes - wheels within wheels within bloody wheels...

Back soon with more dunkelgelb delights  ;)

Best laid plans and all that...

Well, after more real-life interuptions and crawling out of the research hole I fell into, there have been developments. I present to you a tale of two tigers...

Thanks for looking in - back soon with more assembly line antics  ;)

Sheesh! I think I've earned a tea break. As ever, worth paying attention to which wheel or sub-assembly goes where...I got it right at the second attempt.  ;D

Note removed front outer wheel - a common practice to avoid a build-up of filth that would clog up the works. Tiger 131's crew apparently did this, and after capture, the British replaced the wheels thinking they were repairing battle damage. The Tamiya kit gives me this option with small hub caps, not sure if the Airfix (reboxed and stripped down Academy) does.

Thanks again for dropping by - back soon with more Tunisian Tiger tomfoolery  ;)

As far as I got tonight. Fun & games with the rubber tracks - I think that's as saggy as they're going to get. Upper hull not fixed yet and some fiddly looking parts ahead with the exhausts and air filters - including woven material tubing that'll have to be cut to length. Still, it's taking shape.  :)

Thinking ahead, more or less settled on the colours for the two-tone cammo scheme - not a million miles away from 131's current paint-job at Bovington.

Thanks for looking in - back soon with more tiger-tastic tribulations  ;)

After a severe bout of daylight lethargy, here's tonight's progress...

That's the arse-end and the dreaded Feifel tubes done. Worth thinking about how to connect them and heeding Tamiya's advice about painting them to avoid fraying ends when cut.

Thanks for looking in - back soon with more styrene silly-buggery  ;)
