Unit insignia placement and adding a unit
« on: November 05, 2021, 03:42:54 AM »

Hello, everyone! I am working on a static campaign and for more realism I would like to make some improvements. How to add the name of a squadron so that it appears in the list?  How to change the place of a squadron insignia on the fuselage of an airplane. Clear example: 101 Vadasz Osztaly Puma. Although I shrunk the insignia in the Regiments folder, it did not shrink. But I would like the insignia to be on the engine hood and not under the cockpit. The original insignia was smaller and located on the engine hood.
Well, hoping for some helpful answers I wish you all the best!

If you want many people to play the campaign, make it as easy as possible, no forced mods (which in your case could be complicated or impossible without deep 3d editing, when addressing the squadron insignia)

My advice: If the accuracy of these markings mean a lot to you, use prepainted skins with the proper markings and set markings to off in the mission.

You cannot switch off squadron emblems in Il-2, never could. You will have to use a different set empty marked squad and also make use of premarked skins with differently placed emblems if this is very important to you.

Moving this would mean modifying each aircraft on a deep 3d level. What you tried does not work this way.
