Retextured Solomons maps from VP Modpack.

G'day Everyone

For those B.A.T. users who would like to replace their stock maps with these retextured Solomons maps from VP Modpack, please find the following download.

Place the Solomons and _Tex folders in \#WAW3\MAPMODS\Maps.

P.S.      If the B.A.T. Team would like to replace stock maps with retextured maps from VP Modpack in future B.A.T. updates, let me know and I'll make more available.
They must however be credited to vpmedia.

This post can be moved to PTO Maps.

Awesome genXgamer !

Even though I've added multiple retex maps from VP to the BAT directory, I would say it would be a very nice feature if all of the stock maps that still have ugly textures on BAT have been replaced with the retextured maps by VP when the next update comes.  ;)

BTW I've been trying to get VP's Normandy and Tobruk map to work into BAT but haven't had any luck.  But maybe you could try to get the hang on adding those maps?

That's good to hear, any map I make available will also include required objects so we get the full 100% map experience.

heads up:

The VP maps that contain a specific new actors file turned out incompatible to BAT.
That goes specifically for Tore's package as well!

You will not be able to play a campaign when these packs are active as the game can't progress from a map it can't save on.

Test your maps before posting them for users.

All six Solomon's maps save, I have done this in 2 seperate B.A.T. installs.
Tested all six actors files with static checker, all six said all objects found.

Regarding the Normandy maps, I added the required objects days ago.
All three maps save.

If the maps being able to load and save still means their incompatible then I'm afraid that's beyond my understanding.

No, if they save, you got it all right.

I'll do the object work myself for the next BAT update with the VP map packages available so far.

Would you be interested in adding Berlin1, Berlin 2, France and England object packs to B.A.T?
I can make these available, there's heaps of great buildings that we discovered from the Normandy 2 map that aren't in B.A.T.

In the end I'm not trying to be clever or get pats on the back.
I just want to make content that others may enjoy available to my friends here at SAS.

For BAT I have to do it differently
There are 7000+ objects in BAT. A great many just minor variants or different only in names, but they have to be there because of maps needing their address.

Instead of adding big loads of even more objects nobody ever will use, I am approaching map integration one-object-at-a-time, meaning, we look at the map actors, define which objects we need, then add just these objects.

All I'm asking is, if you post a map variant, please add the objects and entries necessary for that map. Otherwise you are just sending me on a daylong goose chase.

The stock Normandy map retextures will be in the next BAT update.
