Hello everyone, I was looking at this list of aircraft, for example:

Spitfire Mk.IXc M61D, 1942

Does M61 mean "Merlin 61" and D mean "D" type wing?  From what I understand, there are 'A' to 'D' type wing, but 'E'? I noticed there are 'E' in the list too.  I am not only learning this for the mod project, I am also doing it as my hobby.

Does it look right?

Spitfire Mk.IXc (Merlin 61) "D" Wing, 1942

At once when I finish with overhauling all the list, I will release it here as a big thank and supporting B.A.T mod pack for the community here.

I have been working on it for 3 days straight. It have been fun working on it.

Cheers

Hi Chaoic16, all Spitfires wih the 'extension' "D" came from David603's mod Spitfire MKIX new 3D/Slots at https://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,18838.0.html.

I have solved your problem by adding 'default' to the default Spitfires:
SpitfireMkIXcM61       Spitfire F Mk IXc (M61), 1942 (default)
SpitfireMkIXcM61-D   Spitfire F Mk IXc (M61), 1942

There was however a 'D' wing; it was used in the Pr type D, and had leading edge fuel tanks of 66 gallon. Later renamed to Pr Mk IV and V.

Thank you for the reply! i see, that make sense.  how about "E' part? E also is related to David's spitfire?

For example

SpitfireMkIXcM61                          Spitfire Mk.IXc M61E, 1942
SpitfireMkIXcM63                          Spitfire Mk.IXc M63E, 1943

Hi, yes 'E' wing was the 'standard'' late war fighter wing with 2 20mm canons in the outboard gunbay  and 2 .50' in the inboard bay. No .303's.

Thank you for the advice.

I am still in the progress working on aircraft list overhaul.  It is looking good so far.

I aim to finish it by end of this week.
