Hi,

Currently I've decided to try working on a campaign for Okinawa instead of Iwo Jima. But I want to know which types of aircraft were used during this event. But mainly I know many USN aircraft were used. Finished 2 missions so far.

depending on the mission types you want to make, it was F4U-1Ds, F6F-5s, TBM-3s, SB2C-1 and -3s for the USN Carrier squadrons, and the whole range of IJA and IJN fighters and bombers, that were flying by then, plus some odd trainers and older types, used in Kamikaze missions;
if you need some historical material, let me know;

Yes, I could know those were used during the Okinawa campaign, and I'm quite sure the USAAF was also there. Such as P-51s, 38s, and 47s. And some bombers like B-25s and 29s when the Japanese airfields have been captured. If I'm correct.

The Japanese use mainly A6M as interceptor. The Ki43 was used in kamikaze missions.

Yeah, I knew the Zero would be usually the main interceptor.

Right now I've made a better idea for the campaign. For the first half of the missions you will fly the F4Us for the USN. And then for the half rest of them you will be transported to one of the occupied airfields in Okinawa and fly the P-51 Mustang for the USAAF. If that seems more interesting enough I may try that.
