WIP - US NAVY carrier ZRS-4/5 + ZRCV
« on: June 25, 2021, 08:40:47 AM »

New meshes by "Mr Yellow Wings" ZFlyer!

mission_bug provided new meshes to create a plausible version of the F9C based on an I-15

It comes with the UP3 "autodocking" code, to dock in flight for the player.
I "Americanized" the cockpit instruments.

Currently working on hooks and damage behavior and some 3d fine tuning.

wohoooooooowwwww now that looks nice!
reminds me of this age old flightsim that played in an alternate reality with large airships and aircraft, flying from them...
and no I do not mean the Microsoft one, but it was done by Rowan IIRC, the team that did Mig Alley, Dawn Patrol IIRC and some others....

edit: found it, it was called "Air Power - Battle in the Skies"

And there will be real Sparrow Hawks to fly around.

Of course with "Yellow Wings"

Super cool and interesting. These should make for fun "what-if" missions.

a little bit of a progress report:

The flag is flying. (only if you use any US faction of course, otherwise it will show "rogue")

ZFlyer48 was doing some mapping and I started to put paint on. Nowhere near done, but it begins to look the part.
There are still a few kinks to iron out.

an interesting thing I discovered while working on the hier.him:

The preview in QMB is not able to handle a "plane" of that size. It has a limit how far it can zoom out.  The FMB however is fully dynamic and it is possible to make a full preview in the FMB object window.

The QMB preview will stay "baby-blue blank" though, nothing will be visible.
That's maybe something for some interested java people to investigate some day....
