Hello pilots,
can I inswert 'User Control' from the root directory of VP MODPACK Il- 2Sturmovi_Il-2 Selector 3.1.1 v4.12.2m SAS Modactivator 5.30 in the root directory of B.A.T. v4.1.3 RED CORE or do I cause damage. Or is the control in Red Core structured differently. Thanks for  an answer or a reference to a related post. Thanks in advance men.

If my memory is correct, this lso contains datas regarding the campaign you currently do. So, I would not do it. But I am not a specialist...

To keep my current/preferred control mappings when the version I'm upgrading to has new controls added, I've manually copy-pasted the newer stuff into my older file and making it the current one. It of course requires some care and attention.

WxTech. I feared something like that. I understand your suggestion, but I am still unclear about the technical implementation (where in the root directory can I find your new stuff and where do I add it to an old game, I am only just starting to get into this complex subject). If you could explain this to me briefly, I would love it. But if I annoy you, the best thing is to reload your new controls in Red Core. Takes a while but with music and a drink ..... unfortunately the background knowledge remains closed to me. Thank you in any case.
Thanks also to your thoughts Gaston

The User folder contains files of all the pilot characters one creates for the game. Inside these files are the key control settings for each character. If one only uses a single character/call sign  then there will only be one file in the User Folder. One can copy past  user folders into any new version of the game inorder to keep one present control setting.  One must first rename the User Folder in the new version, by placing any character in front of the name such as -User,  This allows one to lkeep the new version but the game will not read it  and will only read the copied over folder. Any  New control features will not be in the copy over folder as they did not exist in the older version so these new version control setting will have to be added to the older file by simply copy pasting them to the list. New controls, however,  are far and few between and in many cases are just  added feature to already existing controls such as the those for controlling guided missiles  which are just adaptations of the bomb sight controllers.

Koi, that is a totally good explanation and instruction. It complements what I already knew and you brought me a giant step further. Many Thanks.
