I myself am not convinced about the white bar in front of the the Jg301 band from the two photos of the tail,
it shows the area is a fraction lighter than the creme RLM 76 on the fuselage but not white like the spiral on its spinner.

Crandall indeed is the forerunner in the History of the Dora, but when it comes to Luftwaffe camouflage especially late war
I cant help but side with Japo, they have categorized the majority of Late war types by factory pattern and helped us understand
the intricacy invloved in I'Ding late war colours.

I read that their Kg Me262's book will be out around  September :D

Also as per your 'Black 11' The Japo book makes a good point that all of this block of aircraft went to Jg2 and Jg26
Jg4 can be all but excluded as all Dors of Jg4 went to the Stab and were marked as such.
Also this aircraft was found in an area outside that which Jg6 operated.

Making it more likely 'Yellow 11' of Jg2

Glad to have the advise of an expert Phas3e :)
You're right about the white band colour intensity but I m wondering what else it could be? It is well delimited... Old band erased? Anyway the debate is open :)
And your are also true when you say that Japo made a fantastic work. I do not mean that they don't do good work. Luftwaffe late war paint is a very difficult subject with many rules, many exceptions and many possibilities for interpretion in this field even best experts can do mistake...
Very good news for the forthcoming KG/KG(J) Me 262, also looking forward to have a look at it :)

Differences in the colour of the spots on the engine cowling top (76) and lower (75) is clearly illustrated on this profile from Crandall's Vol.1

for the JG 4 planes, i will think it over, it´s very difficult to decide what paintscheme is the right one - for the black 11 of JG 4, Phase3 is right, JG 4 had only a few Doras for the Stab, but as posted above i´ve found another picture of the plane in Mombeeks chronical of JG 4 so it´s hard to say ... II. Gruppe used Fw 190 A8 "Sturmbock" till the end of the war ...

... what a mess :)

Hello BOELCKE

All these skins make me mad ! superb.

Don't you forget that "Dortenman's" 190D was an early serie but retrofitted with the blown hood .

Could you please do the 190D-9 (W.Nr.Unknown )from the Gefreiter Werner Merz of 11/JG54. "Yellow 4" named Bums(in white ) and wearing a four leaf clover (green with white trim ).This aircraft was based at Oldenburg in fall 1944 .(Ref.Axel Urbanke-GREEN HEARTS First in combat with the Dora 9 ).This is one of the few 190D-9 wearing personnal decoration. She is wearing the standard factory scheme of 75/83/76.

Thanks a lot for your superb work.
