Server and Patch8 problems
« on: December 06, 2020, 02:49:24 AM »

Hi Mike,

again server problems, sorry.

Patch8 will not work with my server. As before !!!!!.........there are NO other mods than Ultrapack.

The server so far had UP_3.0_DF first, UP3.3 second and finally Patch7 activated and worked fine.

After Patch8 installation nothing works anymore. First start was with 3.0_DF activated plus secondly just Patch8.

The starting screen of the client version appears for some seconds, nothing else.

All other combinations of activated mods will not work...........for example in the old Patch7 logic.........first 3.0_DF, then UP3.3, then Patch8

Any idea???????

Any idea???????
Yes: Don't install Patch 8 on a server.
Seriously, there isn't a server version of Patch 8 publically available yet.

Hello,

I'm running 3.3 with patch 8 and a home made map (Great Version). I only had selected planes (early Spit Mk I and 109E-3's) for each base --- English Channel Map. Some guy joins the game and gets a late model Hurricane 1944.

I checked my map and the bases he came from all had restricted planes. Is there some setting I can make in the config.inf to prevent this?  Thanks,

One more question:  I haven't flown IL2 in three years so I'm rusty. I spent all day yesterday searching and testing and can't find a solution. Maybe there is none.

I put together a little dogfight mission with Cannon's English Channel Map. All planes are historical for the period. All bases are set correctly to RAF and German. I've checked and double checked.

When I put the "Destroy Ground" over a German plane on a German base and make it the only primary target the program does not end the mission and say "Red Won."

I can make it do that with the British base and a "Destroy Ground" over an RAF base. When the German Plane destroys it message comes up Primary Target Destroyed...."Blue Won."

I set the primary destroy target of the German Base to Red and the primary destroy target over the RAF base to Blue.

I'm sorry to post this as I'm sure there's a simple answer and this has been brought up before. But please permit me a little slack.

I can' make it work in the Stock 4.12.2 version but not in Ultra Pack 3.3 Patch 8. I also tried it in just Ultra 3.0 and Ultra 2.0.

Maybe this is the wrong thread to put this in...again I'm sorry.

Have a busted water pipe in the house, so I'm tied up all day today. Shut the water off yesterday and worked on this. I give up.

Please help, Thank,

Again:
Hard to tell what's going wrong without having seen for myself, sorry to say.
It's a lot of chit-chat so far. Not trying to belittle you, but talking about one's own mission in text form is almost always... anecdotal.
You've had something specific in mind, but whether we understand the same thing from your words, let alone whether the game understands the same thing from your mission file, is a different story.

Mission file plus log would get us further maybe.

Given the nature of mission files being ascii text, you could post it to pastebin.com and post back a link here.
Alternatively, upload it to mediafire.com and post a download link here.
Don't forget your logfile contents please.
