BAT glitches
« on: November 01, 2020, 07:26:36 PM »

I noticed some glitches while playing bat or perhaps bugs.
1.The zepelin airship when destroyed, its debris hangs in the air.
2.When i switch to the gunner seat in Boulton Paul Defiant, everything is black and when i move the turret everything becomes normal but the  airplane tail is greeen.
3.Some maps dont load.
4.Some planes including hawker fury, lancaster so far as i know are missing.
5.All jeeps except the type 95 have their tyres floating over their heads.
6.There were incompatibility issues with stock il2 but i ran it via the directxwrapper.however bat has also incompatibility issues with Opengl, when i switch to Opengl, the game quits.
7.On DirectX the game runs fine however at most times, the fps drops to 60-20 fps.
So far i found these, are they normal or is it just my fault. :-|

Hi saleh,

the only map I've noticed that will not load is woodlark island - there may be a few others.

Fury and Lancaster are there - are you loading the correct era (WAW)?

Jeep tyres in the air in the object view, but fine actually in game.

BP Defiant gunner is black until you move the guns, however no green tail in my BAT 4.1.

Does your computer have a dedicated graphics card? AFAIK, you can't run OpenGL without one. You will have to ask someone more technical than me about that.

Known bug.

That doesn't help much, does it.

4.Some planes including hawker fury, lancaster so far as i know are missing.
Make sure you are using the right DLLs for your setup.

5.All jeeps except the type 95 have their tyres floating over their heads.
True, but only in GUI previews. Known bug.

As cbradbury says, Use OpenGL for best experience. DirectX issues/incompatibilities are to be expected otherwise.

Woodlark Island loads, saves and plays fine in my BAT-WAW!

Strange - don't know what I've done to my BAT install then! Not too worried as the area is covered well by other maps, so it is not one I really used anyway. I've lost count of the number of maps I've 'forward slashed' out (mostly the old ones)!

"3.Some maps dont load."

I had map loading problems some time back, when I upgraded to BAT 3.8.3. I resolved it by switching to OpenGL instead of DirectX, and also switched to BATDLLS2. I haven't had any problems since.

A lot of this connected to wrong HD dlls.
Textures on maps also can be affected.

Setting up HD dlls is a vital step in the setup and install procedure. Just follow the guide.
