Wonderful to have this, thank you. Only one comment: surely M. le Pilote occupied the open cockpit ahead of the engine, rather than the traditional French observation verandah in the bow?

The pilot sat in the open cockpit only at take off and landing - the rest of the time (the long hours of patrol) he spent in  the closed cabin, without a permanent heavy exposure to wind, noise (the engine is just above the open cockpit) and sun.

A "horrible" and magnificent piece of aviation history, thank you very much for the "ugly duckling".

Cheers

how about a static for this and the Bizerte? both were used by the LW in the air sea rescue role and could be used for that purpose to enliven some anchorages...

I am playing around with DreamK's little gem, trying to build a campaign for her. Great fun!

A couple of times I've seen this aircraft blow up immediately when hit - is this just a fluke, me imagining things, or is she (was she) this vulnerable?  :-|

Ah, yes, a small bug spotted: when the rear gunner gets killed, this is what happens:

It actually looks as if one of his mates is trying to drag the poor unconscious man back into safety ...

French seaplanes were indeed quite vulnerable - not only to enemy fire but also to rough sea (though the Loire130 and the Bizerte were considered to be the toughest of the lot, at least against rough sea).
The fuel tanks were unprotected and sat in the middle of the cabin or sometimes in the floats. The planes themselves were made of rather thin duralumin, and, for most of them, with a large part of the wings covered in fabric.
It seems I forgot a line in the java to make the gunner disappear when killed and be replaced by its dead body. Wil try to find some time to correct that.

That figures - the Loire 130M has a tendency to just blow up when hit. But now I've played around quite a lot with this little beauty, and it IS vulnerable but not extremely so. I think I was a bit unlucky as well, during my first missions!  :)
