Hi,

I can't download the BAT 4.1 Installer??
Download of the zip- files worked fine, but with the installer I get a weird info, like that the source is not secure and if i am sure I want to download it?

Bur I don't have an option to say I WANT to download it anyway.

You could try turning off your antivirus. When the problem is Windows Defender, I can click "more info" (or something like that), and then get the option to download/run installer anyway.

Good Luck, Mate.

Thanks for that idea!

I'll try and report back.

-> Downloaded the file with my second (Win7) computer, within seconds and without any trouble.
So it maybe just was a security setting in Win10.

I have a il2-technical question, refering to my map building of the Baltic Sea area:

How long does an ordinary jet runway has to be? So for the most used jets ... like .. i don't know .. MiG21, F4F, or something like that.
I'm asking in case someone maybe wants to use this map for the BAT-Mod and the included Jet Age ...

Not sure, as I am not a map builder. However I do fly heavy jets like the Vulcan quite frequently, and from my experience some of the most suitable airfields for them can be found on the Burma map (Cyberolas). Shame that the map itself is so small a jet can cross it in a few minutes. So I would take that map as a rough guide.

Thanks for your reply, cbradbury.

The runways in this map are 1.500m and above!
That's simply to long for my Baltic Sea map, that is supposed to be situated in 1939/40.

It's a pity :(

Yo also, you need about 5 thousand m for jets another excellent way is for short runways stick in cataplts and wire trap, in FMB,
but other wise for B29's say, on Saipan they built their runways 10 thou. yards = 10000 yards equal 9144.0 meters (10000yd = 9144.0m)
hope this helps

Sheesh ... I've been downloading UP3 stuff all day and then I ran into a mention of BAT on the interwebz... I wish I had known about this earlier since I am mostly interested in the Golden Age (between wars) planes and the WW1 stuff... I wonder if there is any Pacific Theater stuff in here? ..

As someone posted "Updates of IL-2 after 4.10 is Master's thesis material".

Just a heads-up ... Nowhere on the main download newbie thread do I see the fact that 4.12.2 is the IL-2 version needed for this mod ?... it seems KINDA important.... !... or perhaps I am wrong...

I see more downloads in my near future....

G'day mate

You made the right choice by going with B.A.T. you should find plenty of content to keep yourself happy.
You're right in saying that 4.12.2 is not written as being a requirement, however it does state in the first paragraph that it is based on stock version 4.12.
This may not be clear to everyone reading.
When you go to download B.A.T. 4.0 it clearly states what's required and thorough step by step set up instructions are given.

Anyway once you're up and running, I'll give you some links to some Zero campaigns.

Welcome aboard!

Thanks again ... So much cool stuff to peruse here... and Yes.. the BAT download pages are very well done with all the important stuff written concisely and clearly in the first post or 2 of each download thread.

Very nice.

Rare to find such logic online anymore.... my dad was a Chemist so I know logic and linear thinking when I see it, hehe.
