Topic: C-97 orange lantern (Read 533 times)

In the lovely new cockpit introduced for the C-97 and its fellows in Pegasus there is a large, orange lantern, light or screen right in the middle of the windscreen. At the risk of looking foolish I have to say I have no idea what it is. I have searched both in this site and in Wikipedia and nowhere can I find the answer. Lots of pictures of it but no explanation. Can anyone tell me what it is and whether it plays any active part in the game. Can you switch it off? At night it is quite blinding.

That’s the radar scope or more specifically it’s the slave scope to the one that the navigator operates.

That's the thing all right. I guess it was the colour that fooled me. I'm used to radar screens in black or green. Oddly, no sooner had I posted the above question than I had supper with some TV about hunting submarines and there was this kind of radar shown on screen and fully explained. What are the chances of that?
