A6M8 with tailhook request
« on: August 21, 2020, 03:04:21 PM »

Like a nagging child, I have a question/request.
JapanCat's A6M pack
How difficult is it to "transplant" the tailhook from A6M5 to A6M8? Because as of now:

You see, A6M8 is what Horikoshi Jiro had always wanted, powered by Mitsubishi's very own Kinsei (Venus) engine. While Nakajima Sakae struggled to meet the 1300 hp mark, Kinsei reliably exceeded 1500 hp. Had Mitsubishi stuck to Kinsei early on, we might get something akin to A6M8 entering service in early 1945 aboard the few remaining IJN carriers. What I want here is a carrier-capable A6M8 that flies defensive CAP (sorta like Japanese equivalent of F8F) off IJN light carriers, while the heavier Taiho or Unryu would launch A7M and B7A for offensive sorties, in a "what if" Pacific 1946 scenario.

Never mind. it has a tail hook all along, all I needed to do was to enable it in the FM of the buttons.

For those interested, I can request my "media naranja" to created a DiffFM so as not to modify the buttons.
