I just tried this mod with BAT whilst playing a DGen campaign (Disaster on the Frontiers). To my relief it has removed the scrubby vegetation strips on either side of the runway, which, although they used 3D objects in an attempt at more realism always looked very artificial and far too regular for my taste. It is true, the colour of the runway does not quite match the rest of the airfield, but i tell myself the grass there has been rolled recently by ground personnel, so it appears slightly different.  :)

Different maps have different textures.
It is impossible to guess the color of the grass.
Each user can make any color for himself using GIMP.

Yes I thought that that could be the main problem. Anyway I',ve installed your great mod and I intend to keep it. Thanks again for your work!

I always prefer:

[Render_OpenGL]
TexQual=3
TexMipFilter=3
TexCompress=0

I just tested:

[Render_OpenGL]
TexQual=3
TexMipFilter=3
TexCompress=2



Hello Gerhard, thank you very much for those, so far my install can use either setting, not sure what caused all the flickering first time I installed because I had the necessary DLL files, anyway I will stick with either of those, thank you very much, really appreciated.  8)


Here are the version two textures carsmaster posted, the heavy ones:








These are using these in my ModAct 5.30 install at the moment:

[Render_OpenGL]
TexQual=3
TexMipFilter=3
TexCompress=0

I will take a look with the other setting and just see what it looks like. ;)

Edit, here using these:

[Render_OpenGL]
TexQual=3
TexMipFilter=3
TexCompress=2

 :D   Hi Carsmaster, I was hoping you would add a modification to your splendid mod with a grassy track, as you had anticipated in the images you have published ... maybe adding 3D grass to your track loads the frames too much?  It certainly seems the most spectacular screenshot that I remember ever seeing! It would be an incredible improvement for all of us fans!
