Attempt to build UP3.3 dedicated server from zero
« on: March 24, 2020, 07:43:58 AM »

Hi Mike

Thank you for your help when setting up the 3.2 server. We finally moved from 3.0rc4 to 3.2.

Now it is 3.3.  I found that we are still unable to avoid the error caused by the conflict file and the chaos in history modify.
I think it is time to make up my mind to build a pure 3.3 server from 0.  No other mod, only UP mod and fbdj.

I have decided to follow the advice of your previous topic: https://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,61481.0.html

Starting from 4.10.1m, install up3 RC, RC4 patch, and finally 3.3 patch

In the process, I saw that the forum already had:
UP_3.0RC_Client.exe (and a series of volumes, totaling 14 files)
UP_3.0RC4_Client.exe (one file)

I believe that a server mod and the original 4.10.1m should be needed when establishing a dedicated server. (Steam now seems to have stopped offering 4.10.1m version)
is there any reliable download link?
In addition, is there anything else I need to pay attention to during this upgrade?

--------------------------------------update1

I did some homework and found the instructions in the previous post.

Hi Aviar,

Of course when you want to run an IL-2 server installation, you have to start with an IL-2 dedicated server version.
Original Server installations start with Version 2.04 and have to be patched up step by step, a good explanation can be found here:
http://www.mission4today.com/index.php?name=ForumsPro&file=viewtopic&p=157139#157139

You can take a shortcut by using this full featured 4.08m server pack:
http://www.mission4today.com/index.php?name=Downloads&file=details&id=2417

Then you "only" need to apply the server patches for 4.09m, 4.10m and 4.10.1m before installing UP3 RC on top, followed by the two UP3 server patches from the first post of this thread.
Last but not least, I strongly recommend to update the Selector to it's latest version, use the "SAS Selector v3.1.3 for Dedicated Server Operators" in your case:
http://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,16403.0.html

Best regards - Mike

I was a little confused in the third step.
1. After I have assembled the 4.10.1m dedicated server, should I install the UP3 RC client installation package directly on this basis?
2. After I complete the installation of UP3 RC, if I need to continue upgrading to the dedicated server of UP3 RC4, what I need to install is:
  UP_3.0_DFServer.exe
  UP_3.0RC4_DFServer.exe
Before that, do I need to continue to install the UP3 RC4 client patch?

At the same time, I observed that there seemed to be two installation ideas:
1. Upgrade to UP3 Server by Using 4.08 Special Server Program
2. Use UP3RC4 client to install UP3 server patch directly
I don't know if I understand correctly

--------------------------------------update2

Following the previous instructions, I first completed a pure up3rc4 server in the following order:
1. Install the 4.08 server version
2. Upgrade 4.09 4.10 4.101 Server Patch
3. Install UP3 RC Client Installer
4. Install server patches for UP3 RC and RC4

I got a server program that won't report errors.

But then I encountered a problem when trying to upgrade to 3.3.
After I installed the UP3.2 and UP3.3 patch, I activated up3.3 and UP3.0_DF in jsgmemods.
When I start the server, It will not stop reporting errors.
