##### On some P-47s, a green hood.
« on: February 13, 2020, 02:41:45 AM »

After update 3.8, on many P-47s, when viewed from the cockpit,(not in QMB) a green hood appeared. This is more often seen on standard skins. If you change the skin, it may not appear.

This scene has also come across in earlier versions like BAT 3.7. But it came back to normal after 1 second or so into the mission thus no big issue. Now it is quite strange if it stays on in the BAT 3.8.

I saw it for the first time, so I decided to report it. Yes, this does not present a problem. Thank you

If someone knows where this originates and how to fix it, let's hear it. But IIRC the last time nobody had a clue as it was not happening for everyone.

Looks a bit like P-47 modpack plus some new 3D mod on top.
The P-47 Pack Cockpits have a part of the cowling added to the cockpit 3D model and when entering cockpit, materials from the plane 3D model get mapped to the cockpit 3D programmatically.
If however the external and/or internal 3D has been swapped in favour of a new mod, that dynamic mapping won't work anymore.
The quick solution is to hide that cowling mesh in the cockpit 3D (and maybe lift the cockpit a bit to avoid looking through the engine from behind in that case).
The full solution would be to adjust the cowling mapping accordingly.

mapping I can't do.
If someone wants to help out, I can provide any 3do files they might need to look at though.

I can take a look at it too, I think I remember that I've tackled the very same issue in Ultrapack not so long ago.

I had this issue, what helped in my case was - copying the BAT dll file into the root folder of the game with overwriting - the same file that you used before (either dll 1 or 2). I suggest trying it out. Hope it'll help.

For what it's worth, I did a test with all the various versions. Out of ten mission loads, I did not see this one single time.

could this indeed be incorrect HD dlls?
I would assume if HD dlls are wrong you would notice effects quite early and everywhere.
