Il2 Will Not Load
« on: January 09, 2020, 04:49:14 PM »

So Ive been wanting to get back into Il2 1946 for quite some time now. Its been about 10 years since ive last thought about this sim. But the issue I am having is trying to get the sim to run on my system. I've tried everything I could think of but nothing seems to work. I've got a fresh install of Il2 1946 and updated to 4.12.2 from steam. No longer can install with my cd copy because i don't have a optical drive. I feel like i shouldn't have any issues running the sim. it will Kinda load to about 50% then lock up my computer. If I remember right Il2 had issues with multi core processors and I am wondering if that could be the issue I am having.

Operating System - Windows 10 Pro 64-bit
CPU - Intel Core i7 4790K @ 4.00GHz
RAM - 32.0GB Dual-Channel DDR3 @ 666MHz (9-9-9-24)
Motherboard - ASUS Z97-A
Graphics - NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070 (Gigabyte)
with Dual VG248 (1920x1080@144Hz)

If you have any ideas I will be very grateful.

Just be patient.
Very patient.
Your monitors use a DisplayPort connection to your PC.
IL-2 + Nvidia + DisplayPort = 30-40 seconds wait time per monitor both at 50% and 60% loading step.

Once you got your game modded, you will want to install this mod to fix that issue:

Man thank you very much! I was going insane trying to figure this one out. I was on the verge of installing Windows XP on a vm and trying to run it there.
