Hey guys. So i've finished the Sundowners F-4 mission and i've already started to work on a brand new one. It's coming along nicely, although the A-6 is a bit difficult to handle by the AI. So far i managed to  mitigate all the issues i've encountered so far, now i just need to refine the "blind" medium-altitude bombing and the RTB section. The mission is a bit different from the other i made, more specifically it's a bit more "streamlined" in gameplay. There will be a storm and you will attack a major NVA resupply outpost.

Also, BIG NEWS. Since the Vietnam War is amongst the few wars that have its unique "OST" to it, i've launched a public playlist on YouTube! Inside you will find songs/music relevant to the Vietnam War and (in most cases) real-life footage of bombings and operations in South-East Asia. I hope listening to it will add more immersion while playing my missions 8)

1.6 Wings over 'Nam YouTube playlist: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLlqllqL1AtS8QZuCIoKC9-JuZIYHynajZ

Anyway, here's some screenshots while testing singleplayer and multiplayer missions (testing with M4rd0k2)

Thank you so much DarkBlueBoy! Here's more of them 8)
The A-6 mission is done. now i'll start to work on a brand new one. I'll surely make more VPAF and USMC missions for the next patch, since they doesn't have as many as the U.S.A.F. and U.S.N.
I was thinking about something regarding the F-8 Crusader and A-4 Skyhawk for the Marines. For now i can say that a mission will probably be inspired by the We Were Soldiers movie  ;D
Btw the multiplayer testing continues and THIS EVENING i will host my multiplayer mission for 1.7 Wings over 'Nam! If interested be sure to also check out our Discord.

Here's some screenshots of the new mission and from multiplayer testing; you can see the devastation left by 4 Intruders fully loaded  ;D . In the last 2 you can see a "attempted" landing made by me with the A-7 in multiplayer and me and my mate M4rd0k2 flying low along the Mekong river.

Hey guys! A little update on what i've done in these days. I finished yet another mission (the A-6 one) and i'm testing a new one right now. Regarding the Singleplayer missions i'm enhancing the VPAF and the USMC side.
Multiplayer testing is going at full-speed ahead and only 8 missions remain to be fixed/tested. It may seem a lot to be tested, but bear in mind that 32 are now ready.  8)
Lots of time and lots of patience is required in testing. Hope you enjoy my missions and the YouTube playlist i made  ;D

Hey guys! Good news i'm almost done with yet another mission and the multiplayer testing is almost done!!! Just 4 missions remain to test.
We are having HUGE fun playing them and we are looking for new players! We are just a bunch of guys having fun with Jets on BAT  ;)
Check here if you're interested: https://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,64628.0.html (see link, post N.4 & 7)
For the Discord invite write me in PM.

Lots of thanks go to my mates, (in particular M4rd0k2, Luca104 and all the EAF team) with their help we are almost done with the multiplayer conversions.
Now, i must finish these last 4 and then switch to Singleplayer missions only. Let me know your ideas with your REQUESTS!

Here's more multiplayer testing as it goes on and a "sneak-peak" of the brand new Singleplayer mission. Multiplayer in BAT (apart traffic on carriers ;D) is by no means less enjoyable and dangerous than Singleplayer #RIPmyF-105
The 2nd screenshot is particularly close to my heart...Me and my dad both playing BAT and in perfect formation  ^-^

Weekly status report guys. Multiplayer testing is going on without much trouble  ;D
Only 4 remain and with enough time they will be ready soon. A lot of work and time is going into them, especially when identifying where the bugs are generated, and also correcting them.
Enjoy these screenshots! The first 3 are taken in Multiplayer testing with me and M4rd0k2 having a lot of fun. You can see us flying in formation and comparing the B-52 to a "little" F-100  :D
The last 2 are from my latest mission. The C-130H is my favourite cargo plane and it looks awesome in the south-east asia skies. This won't be the plain, "boring" and straight-line transport mission either...Expect surprises.

Here's the usual weekly status report guys. The mission building continues relentlessly and at a good pace.
The C-130 mission is ready! The briefing and Walkthrough are done and i have plans for, at least, 3 other missions right now. In this one i'm quite pleased on how i managed to balance out well the Travel time with the actual Action of the mission. It will not be easy, i guarantee that!  8)
The AAA is absolutely merciless and the SAMs will literally blow you out of the sky if you stay too high. The mission itself will set around the good old Khe Sanh once again, that has suffered quite a lot of bombing (as seen in the screenshots). i wanted to create a mission around the concept of the "Low-Altitude Airdrop" in which the Hercules is quite famous for.
The escape will also be quite "dynamic", with several AAA hidden in the surrounding mountains and with NVA gunners all too happy to shoot down your poor Hercules.
Prepare yourself for low-flying, bullet-dodging and practice your emergency landings... ;D

Unable to open the RAR file.  Used WinRAR and 7-Zip and the error message is, "The archive is either in unknown format or damaged."

Hi RTMabry
That's strange actually. Have you tried to re-dowload again the zip? I have a standard WinRAR and i can open/extract everything
It could be, that while you were downloading it, your connection might have lost some info on the way back, therefore you see the "damaged zip" message (it happened to me several times). Try again to download it, I'll check if the link is broken for some reason  ;)

Hey guys! Hope you are all well with your families in this difficult period.

So, what's new? Well first of all, Multiplayer testing is at its end. All missions have been tested intensely by me and my mates. Hours and hours spent in testing, fixing, testing, fixing, next one...I hope that upon release everything will work as intended. If not, well i'm gonna fix it shortly afterwards  8)
Another news on multiplayer is that, as some of you might know, i converted ALL missions from 1.4/1.5/1.6 in 6 players max multiplayer missions. The limit of 6 players is to avoid by all means De-Sync or lag, especially because Il-2 BAT + MP + JTW is a lot for our beloved sim. BUT, the good news is that i managed, with the help of my mates, to convert 20 (half) of them to host up to 12 players simultaneously!
Now you can choose, depending on how many friends are online and what do you want to play, to host any mission with up 6 players or one of the 20 missions available for 12 players.
It's a quite handy compromise: if you have a small group of friends you can load up a 6-P Max and enjoy a closer, more stable and cooperative type of gameplay. If you instead need to host to several people (which i often do) you can choose one the 12-P Max missions and let everyone enjoy the mission in a more open, free and extended type of gameplay.

Third news is that M4rd0k2 requested a mission and i am building it as i speak. It will be an escort mission where a formation of F-105s will bomb newly discovered VC tunnel entrances. I will update you on any step forwards i make  ;)
Remember that YOU can submit your own mission request! Just send me a PM or write it down here and i will contact you for the details.  8)

Hey guys!
I've got a little announcement to make: i know that since 1.6 came out, A LOT of time has passed (9 months  o_O) and it may seem that i'm taking way too much time to release the latest version of my project. As many of you might know, i've been under intense pressure from my University recently, and i've suffered several delays due to personal reasons and COVID.
With that out of the way, i wanted to announce that:

"MAYBE i'll be able to publish 1.7 Wings over 'Nam for the 1st of January 2021"

I wanted to release it for Christmas but it's not really feasible anymore. I will try instead to welcome 2021 and wish you all a great New Year with this gift by me.
Now i can work at a decent pace, so i should be able to finish it and publish it for the 1st. If not, i will upload it shortly after (1/2 weeks later maximum).
I think you guys already waited for too long for this version to be released.  ;)

Talking about progresses, i've completed the mission requested by M4rdok2. Due to irregular and sometimes illogical AI behavior in Il-2, this mission was quite hard to complete. Now it's totally playable and it runs quite well.
As for many JTW missions it's not flawless but it's totally playable.
My friend M4rdok2 was so satisfied by it that he immidiately gave me more "work" to do ;D and requested another mission. This time with USAF F-5s striking vietnamese supply columns early in the war.
Stay tuned for screenshots... 8)

Talking of which!

Hey man,

I hope you're doing ok with all the covid stuff.

Take it easy no rush, we are all doing it for the love of the game and planes i guess. So no need for deadlines and don't feel rushed.
