So, Carsmaster has confirmed (thank you) that the tga’s need to stay as RGB, which means each texture at 4096x4096 will be 49mb and its bumph file will be 16mb. Tree tga’s can stay at 257k.

That means a map with most textures replaced with 4096 will take up to 1.5gb of disk space.

Loading times are certainly longer but I haven’t had time to play test properly.

I could use the textures very well. I am currently working on a western Europe map with the project name North Sea.

From what I have seen so far in landscape in the area of the Channel Coast, your textures fit very well.
At the moment I'm not ready to test the textures on the map. The development of the Map_c is still too far in the early stages.

As already mentioned, I have first textures in the area of Ostfriesland. I could then adjust these later.
Overall, using your textures would be less work for me.
Why should I create textures myself if they already exist in an excellent way?
