a question -  although i have a lot of pics of the Lysander, I can't seem to find one that definitively shows the exhaust, specifically the end of it. is it open, or does it have some sort of lid/cap over the end?
the piece that comes with the kit is molded closed, and indeed looks shaped as if there is some sort of cover/filter, whatever...

(sorry for focus, my camera is being very stubborn about it)

so i'm not sure yet whether i should be opening this exhaust piece or leaving it as it is.
anyone have any ideas?
some of the pics i've seen look almost as if it's open, others as if closed.
any info, as always, will be welcomed! :D

Looks like it is open in this video.:

Of coarse it is a rebuilt example so original may differ.

well, no updates yet worthy of any pics - been measuring up and scratch-building extra internal framework detail, some wiring, etc.
once it progresses to the point of actual construction, I'll post up some pic updates.
meanwhile, I just broke my new year's resolution, by getting a little carried away on my last visit to the local hobby shop..
I went in with the intention of buying one kit, and they just happened to be pricing a consignment of kits that another collector put up for sale.
Long story short, I ended up walking out with an armful of kits, which came it an just a tad over the $20 I had intended to spend, lol...  :P
nevertheless, I reckon I managed to get a GREAT deal - some very nice kits, some of which are pretty hard to find these days...

these, all for a grand total of around $112. not too shabby!
and with that, I vow not to buy any more kits this year.... :P

see you soon with Lysander updates...

now that's a great stash of planes, Piet!
i have maybe around half as many as yours, also a substantial amount of armor and bike kits - somewhere around 160 in total!
i'm going to have to build an extra room soon, as every spare bit of storage space is crammed full of kits, lol

so, a little update on progress:
got a little tired of doing a lot of detail scratch-building for the Lysander, then when the lockdown kicked it, decided it's the perfect time to get some half-built side projects done.

these are mostly done - the Spitfire dio is for a friend, it's done bar a final flat coat for the figures;
the MkII Spit has just got its decals, needs more weathering.
the MD Heli is done, I basically bought it because I needed some extra 1/48 pilot figures, lolz
The M3 half-track also done, just needs some last weathering, which will be dependant on the diorama.

just so you can see I've not been twiddling my thumbs all this time. :D
Lysander update will be when it will be.
