hi guys.  I normally don't check this scale model forum but the topic caught my attention.  At first I wanted to pick the Devastator because as a small kid (before I advanced to 1/48 scale), I would always go to this little store and go look at the Devastator kit they had.  I never did get it but I still remember those days!
Anyhow, the Lysander is a good choice, especially in SEAC colors.  I have an old Airfix Lysander out in the storage shed.  I'm sure yours will look much better!

Hey All.  I don't check this thread often, either.  Cheers.  Growing up I built in whatever scale my old man would bring home for me.  I wasn't an avid builder.  During my time in the USAF, however, being the airplane nut and so on...I started building, in detail...1/72nd.  My apartment eventually had a bedroom devoted to my collection...shelving and all.  I got pictures but not uploaded yet...I'd have to go dig into some boxes...  1/72nd allowed me the relative volume for display and, for me, all were in scale to each other...kinda like what our splendid modders do here.  These days, I don't have to stand in my museum and hold a 1/72nd scale model in my hand and dance around the room going "brrr…, brrr…"...and so on...I just pop on to my DBW or UP3.  Cheers to all of the modelers.

The room eventually became my first son's bedroom.  When we moved...I carefully wrapped them in plastic wrap and boxed them.  They reside in my attic to this day.  I'll see if I can't get one of my boys to help me find some of the pics.

Cheers and prost

Gubi, it was probably a guy not unlike you who i bought a large portion of my collection from.
he had a garage full of kits in storage, but sadly passed away before most of them saw the light of day.
in a way, i'll be building some of those kits for him, too :D
and whatever i haven't done before my time's up, will likely be sold on to some other dude...
ah, the circle of life...  ;D

p.s: i see guys giving their suggestions, but the poll numbers are unchanged - don't forget to add your vote to the poll, guys!  8)

well, poll closed, and it was a tie for second place with the IL-2 and the Devastator.
so, the Lizzie will be first to start getting some attention.
i'll start a progress thread for the Lizzie soon, but be warned, i am not going to be rushing this one.
most likely you'll see one or two smaller kits done before the Lysander.
and i'm doing it in SEAC scheme. sorry, SD guys....  ;D

thanks to all for who participated, and for the suggestions and info.  8)

SEAC sounds pretty cool. If you can, please post some pictures along the way.

thanks Flying H, i'll take whatever i can get my hands on.   :)
managed to grab a pretty informative pdf of Mushroom Models magazine (Orange Series #8103) which has some pretty nice internal pics.
sourced from modelfan.ru website, it seems there's a wealth of research material available there, if anyone wants to check it out.
cheers!   8)
