My J7W2 violently sh** a rift in spacetime...
« on: October 04, 2019, 11:58:34 PM »

I'm assuming this isn't normal...

Only happened after a couple of hours of having the game open, and it was only visible when I zoomed in like in the image. Correct dlls, correct conf.ini, and even setting the correct graphics card for some seriously nice visuals. It wasn't just my J7W2 either. The whole squadron was having singularity diarrhea while every other type of aircraft was fine.

On top of that, when I tried to exit from the FMB to the main menu, the FMB screen gave me a huge dark blue circle and refused to let me do anything besides ctrl-alt-delete it.

Is this just a random fluke from having the game open for a while?

I saved the logfile; how do I upload it here?

EDIT: nevermind

A tad more of the log would be great.
That part tells us that something happened, but not what and why.

If the log is too long to post here, you can use pastebin.com

There's a whole lot of things going wrong.
For instance plane skins are missing:

INTERNAL ERROR: Can't open file 'PaintSchemes/Skins/Ar-196A-3/vp_Ar-196_Japanese.bmp'
Then you repeat the same thing like 5 times despite all those errors, and then it continues with...
Code: [Select]

Looks to me like you're trying to work on a mission from the attic, with objects not available in BAT (or available with different names) and skins that you've deleted long time ago.

Well, THAT makes no sense at all.

I mean, the first 4 can be explained by the fact that I was in the QMB, but not the missing J7W2 skin (let alone the default skin).

I never deleted any skins or objects. I have an up-to-date BAT install on 1946 4.12.2 with all of the expansions and recent patches for Le Grand Cirque...

The only things that I can think of that I might have "missed" are small patches for previous expansions before Le Grand Cirque. Did I need any of the patches before jumping to the next full expansion?

I'm not mad at you... and I didn't mean to imply that I think I know better... I'm just bringing up what I do know in case there's a chance it'll help...

I'm just really frustrated that, no matter what I do, something goes wacky.

Here's another much simpler log:
https://pastebin.com/DSdL1BzQ
I just opened the game, ran my FMB mission for a minute or so, and quit. No FMB blue circle. Everything was fine.

The default J7W2 skin was fine with no diarrhea voids. Everything was there despite what the log is telling us about the "missing skin."

no, there's no need for this, you are good to go.

this here means nothing and has no effect. it's just a notification that some of the skins in that mission aren't available with no further consequence.

If as you say you had the game running for a long time and are encountering such a graphics hickup out of the blue, it's safe to simply close and relaunch the game again. All will be back to normal when your system and the game are starting that new relationship.

You did not "lose" or "miss" a default part of the AC (it's not working "like that").

Alrighty then.

Hey, can you tell Storebror I didn't mean to drive him off? We had a serious misinterpretation of statements here...  :-[
