Thanks Bark, I already had a look at these, but I'm still in the dark.

Not even sure we can add mod planes without asura's dgen ?

Should not be an issue - theoretically anyway - as SAS - Vampire Pilot worked out the hard part - making the various DBs compatible.  Adding a plane should just be a matter of adding the correct name to the [Planes] section of the Ops files if you just want it to appear in the campaign and adding the plane name to the various other campaign files if you want to select it and fly it.

I will be testing a campaign I tried building for Asura's DGEN tonight and let you know.

Did some testing tonight.  No joy.  :( Have a few more things to try on Saturday.  Stay tuned.

OK it is possible to add a/c but not so easy.  Thru trial and error it looks like any a/c you add to the [Plane] section of an Ops file needs to appear on the XXXPlanes file - for EACH role/weapon the a/c will perform/carry.

Example:
Ops file = Tarawa
XXXPlanes file = TarawaPlanes

The problem is that not all Ops files have a Planes file so you need to make them.
Tedious to say the least - and I don't have a full understanding of the columns on the Planes file.

Here is the Planes section of my edited Tarawa Ops file:
Code: [Select]
[Planes]
100 PBN1 $PBY_5_Late.bmp
100 F4F_FM2 FM_2_USN_R0NNC0.bmp
300 F6F3 F6F_3_Blue_Generic_R0NNC0.bmp
200 TBF1
100 TBF1C TBM_3_Unmarked_R0NNC0.bmp
200 SBD5 SBD_5_USNBlank_R0NNC0.bmp
100 H8K1
100 G4M1_11 G4M1_Kisarazu_Ku_R0NNC0.bmp
200 D3A2
100 B5N2 Shokaku.bmp
100 A6M5 $vp_A6M.bmp
200 A6M3
100 A6M2N Macwan_A6M2N_late.bmp

I added the D3A2, A6M5 & A6M2N for the Japanese

And here is a section of the TarawaPlanes file:

there are two "Master" or "Default" ****planes.dat files:

EuroPlanes.dat -> for ETO
PacificPlanes.dat -> for PTO

If no segment-specific ***planes.dat file exists, or a plane has no entry there, the DGen defaults back to these two.
Unless you want a plane a very specific role/loadout/altitude for a very specific segment, you can just as well  add everything to these two.

... as far as I remember from my DGen modding days.

OK so that makes sense. And thanks - both for this and the hard work you did to get DGEN in shape for BAT.

Do you recall what the numeric values represent?

So I installed this today but can't seem to get any missions generated. The only thing in the log files that looks out of place is this at the end:

Code: [Select]
...
Writing mission
missions/campaign/de/dgen_+_murmansk4adoe0/10625.mis
Ostfront not installed!

From what I can gather ostfront is some old add-on for IL-2? The version I installed BAT on came from an old IL-2 UE disc with the megapatch on top of that and so on up to BAT 3.6.2, so it should have all of the official add-ons etc as far as I know? Just wondered if anyone knows what my best bet is here to try and get this working?
