I have read a lot about this mod but can't find where it tells me how to use it.

I am missing something obviously.

I guess it is replacing the  Campaign Generator. As far as I can tell. OK.

I everyone,

I found a misspell causing planes to explode on takeoff, in the JG54 campaign (one of my favorite).

In "JG54_BerlinMai44Planes", for the Bf109 G6_Late, "U4R6-MK1082XMG151" should be "U4R6-MK1082XMG151-20".

Yes it will  :)
It's a well know error both for DGen and DCG campaign. Just test it by yourself. Your plane and others will explode once the mission ends loading.

I've been using DGen with BAT 4.2 for some time now. There are quite a few issues in the 5th Air Force Fighter career I've been playing. I started from the Pearl Harbor mission.

1. Planes may crash on the way back to Port Moresby during missions to Milne Bay because they run out of fuel.

2. AA weapons on the Japanese airfields northeast of Port Moresby do not open fire on several strike missions.

3. There are many instances in which planes explode if you change your squadron's planes (even to other P-40 variants) in NG1942.

4. The campaign broke after using P-47B-15 in some missions over default assigned P-40.

That's not the only one.....one in three campaigns that I try to begin, stop or crash for one reason or another.

guys! the whole DGen stuff mostly comes from times when IL-2 was at version 4.08 or 4.09!
many planes have seen revisions since then, changing their slots and/or their loadouts, breaking campaigns that way!
many mods that could be found in DBW are no longer supported in BAT due to above mentioned facts;

instead of mourning, note the campaigns and subcampaigns that do not work and create a thread here, naming them;
changing stuff in DGen campaign files is not that hard as this revolves around editing text files mostly and stay within the limit of DGen.exe itself as this will not accept certain planes ...
