Terrible smoke when firing guns VYa-23! The appearance after the Blitz 3.6. How to remove?

Not something that was intentional.

Give exact aircraft and exact loadout please.

All IL-2 with a cannon VYa-23 and LaGG-3 with the same gun.

I suspect some negative influence from some effect that was coming with another mod maybe
(modders sometimes don't look at all side effects...)

If I can catch the file in question I will remove it from SFS next time.
Maybe someone can ID the effect file that's responsible then there can be a replacement fix.

are you 100% sure this appeared with 3.6?

I reinstalled the BAT on clean IL-2. Checked after each version. Did not help. After 3.6.

found the responsible file, here's a fix:

it is the same file as it was up to BAT 3.5

Now I need to investigate which mod brought this in....

All perfectly! I am very grateful! But .. in the JTW module, the IL-10 still shoots with smoke. It's clear.

you can apply the same file fix to the #JTW3 folder.

OK, before you guys embarrass me for asking, please consider the source.  Can one of you smart guys tell me what to do after I have downloaded the file?  Should I put it into the BATMODS folder?  Or maybe someplace else?  Thanks for not poking fun at us old, not very smart guys.  Always appreciate the help.

It was also on the Mk108. But btw, i thougt it was  intentional. I found it looks cool
