I am working on ocean and clouds.

When I have finally come up with a solution I like, I will share the techniques with slibenli and see if we can't get it in.

Another feature that is easy for me to implement is supporting higher resolutions for map_T.
I could do something like looking for map_T_2x.tga, map_T_4x.tga, etc. and use that instead.

First of all i think we need bigger objects rendering distance (no objects popping up ... credible fade in/out

Then higher terrain resolution

Proper forest rendering, cloud shadows, and misplaced coast lines. These are the game changers. Great work, mate.

Cloud shadows would be the hardest as that necessitates proper cloud rendering first.

Would it be possible to have water transparency. Interesting for submarine hunting and also have more realistic effects on the shallows of oceans, lakes or rivers. Only the texture of the seabed would be visible, the colour of the water would be a choice of area.

The water has no life of its own in the game, it has no rendering due to the speed of movement due to the declination of the terrain. There is also no waterfall. That would also be a nice effect.

The visual effect of air distortion due to heat is also an effect that would bring realism of proximity or distance for large fires.

The effect of wind on objects, plants, water. Is it possible?

These are just ideas, I guess not everything is possible.

What about the Hi resolution map_T ?
I voted for it at the poll.
Would be very interested in a map_T x 4, same scale as the map_c.
You've said it could be easy for you to do.
Do you plan to ?
