My heart and prayers for France
« on: April 15, 2019, 05:03:50 PM »

I'm so sorry for the tragedy that fell upon Notre Dame Cathedral. I had tears in my eye as I watched the spire fall.  I hope they were able to save some of the historical treasures from the fire.

Thankfully no lives lost (that I know of).  Terrible thing to see the flames consuming everything.

I don't think the flames consumed everything - apparently some artifacts had been removed for the renovation work and the vaulted ceiling held (mostly, so far...). As incredibly heartbreaking as this is, it could have been worse.  Still indescribably awful, though

The concern here is whether the truth will out? Churchs have been attacked over several weeks in France with a press blackout!! Wonder why? All a bit coincidental

Kenneth Clarce said this while standing by the Seine, with Notre-Dame behind him:
“What is civilisation? I don’t know, but I think I can recognise it when I see it.”

And now?  :(

Lets hope the best. When the Cathedral of Reims (where most France Kings were crowned)
was destroyed in WWI it took long (1937) until this place was rebuilt and reinaugurated.
But it happened. And this will happen with Notre Dame too.

Gabriel, they just report what Newsweek wrote on its main page just a month ago. They updated and reloaded it on their main webpage yesterday.
see here:

Is Newsweek spreading fake news or are these news true but suppressed in France? I don't know presently the answer, but this really needs to be checked as both eventualities are highly disturbing.
