Help ... Skinners one and all
« on: March 02, 2019, 10:28:41 PM »

Hello Skinners one and all,  :)

I'm in need of your expert assistance. I'm in the process of skinning the Hurricane MkIIa and I have an issue. Note the photo below and you'll see a red circled area. I can not find this area at all on my template. The template is by Fly By Shooter (2000).

I'm hoping that a Skinner here can help me with this issue.

Thanks in advance for any assistance … very much appreciated.

Hello Western,

That area is actually for the scoop you see directly behind the tri-angular area I have circled. I found that while trying to find the area I'm having issues with.  :)

Why not simply "Thank you"?   ;)

I use 'Eliminator' to locate airplane parts in the template:

Alternatively, this could also be done:

I highly recommend using something like this (as a shortcut for the lazy):

Use create a new layer as the color/base, put this there, leave all the details/mechanical parts on the aircraft so it's just the texturable parts (or parts you will be texturing). This will greatly aid in visualizing UV Mapping distortions/defects. You can also make note of grid references and look back at it when doing the color scheme to find what you need/where a part is located.

Hope this helps.

This would be a better one to post actually:

...or take the Panelfinder:

Good luck.
