Leticia
« on: February 27, 2019, 11:37:01 PM »

For 9 months in 1932-33, Peru and Colombia battled for territory in the Amazon basin. The conflict, known as the Leticia Incident involved land, river, and air forces engaged in a protracted conflict that witnessed air to air combat between float planes, and the full spectrum of combat air operations.  AGRACIER created an excellent map of the region which is not yet in BAT but is available here
https://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,31624.msg334312.html#msg334312

The skin pack has historic and notional skins for a variety of aircraft to include: JU-52 3mg5e (Colombia), Junkers F-13 Hydro and Bomber (Colombia and Peru), Nakajima A2N2 as a Hawk II land version stand in (Colombia), Curtiss Cyclone Float (Colombia) & Curtiss D-12 Falcon Float (Colombia, Peru), Curtiss F8C4 as Vought Corsair (Peru) stand in, E7K1 Alf as Fairey Seal (Peru) stand in, Fokker CXIW as Douglas O-38 & Vought V-80P stand in (Peru) and the Lublin R-XIII TerH as a "what if" (Colombia and Peru).  Skins are all 1024 and include a number of generics. Markings are historically accurate or consistent with practice at the time.  The red/blue scheme on some of the Peruvian planes was the actual delivery scheme. These aircraft were pressed into combat service so quickly  that they were not repainted prior to joining the fight.  As we do not have a proper Hawk II land or Seahawk float version I chose to use the the A2N2 as a stand in.  Personally I have never been able to get the machine guns working on this one but it looks right to me so there you have it.  Hopefully others have not experienced the weapons issue. As we do not have a Seahawk float fighter I used the Curtiss D-12 Falcon nimble two seater as stand in for the float fighter.  Both sides used the Seahawk.  You can put the Peruvian Vought Corsair skins in the F8C4 folder for the land version and the Curtiss Cyclone float skin folder for the float version.  The Peruvians used both. Templates used were done by Stalker for many of the aircraft, Archie for the Alf and IMME for the JU-52. Others were made from default skins. Thanks to Zflyer, Gio, and Mission Bug for the various aircraft.  They are all great fun to fly!   Hope you enjoy them.

Very nice skins !

Just one thing missing : a readme with the exact skin folders to use for these beauties (with exact names of folders, of course, because, I can't find which skin must go where...).

May I kindly ask this to you ? Thanks in advance !

Sure.  Put in folders as follows:  HawkII place in Nakajima-A2N2 folder; Fokker C-XI-W place in Fokker_CXIW folder; RXIII_D place in RXIIITerh folder; Fairey Seal place in E7K1-Alf folder; Junkers -13H or F.13 float place in Junkers_F13_Utility folder;  Junkers-13B place in Junkers_F13B folder; Curtiss_Cyclone_Float place in Curtiss_37F_Cyclone folder; Curtiss_Falcon_Float place in Curtiss_37F_D12 folder; Vought Corsair place in either or both F8c4 folder for land version, Curtiss_37F_Cyclone for float version; JU-52 place in  Ju52_3mg5e folder. I think that about covers it. :P

Lots of Thanks !

But you seem to have few mistakes : Fokker_CXIW and F8c4 do not exist in BAT/TGA air.ini... maybe you are wrong ?

Other ones, I found listed so in air.ini (left column goes to skins folders) :

Curtiss_37F_D12
Curtiss_M37F_Cyclone
E7K1-Alf
Ju-52_3mg5e
Junkers_F13_Utility
Junkers_F13B
Junkers_F13Float
Nakajima-A2N2
R-XIIITerh

Hope it helps !

Gaston

You are correct that neither the F8c4 nor the Fokker_CXIW are available in BAT.  Hopefully they will be in a future release.  However, both aircraft, created by Zflyer48, are available as mods. Your choice as whether you add them to your version of the game.  ;)

it would definitely be helpful to pack that many skins in the appropriate folders.

Thanks, Dona. I found the F8C4, and added it. But I seem not to find the Fokker_CXIW, even using the search function... any link to it ???

Vampire_pilot... you are right. When I had time to create campaigns, some years ago, that was what I was doing : every skin (and missions too) in the appropriate folder, so player just just had to drop the unzipped pack in his game directly...
