I was asked to post my other parachute repaint mods as AAA was going down so here it is copied from my AAA thread:
The following files will change the way your parachute looks when you bail out. Some are historically accurate and others are for fun
Put the folder into your MODS folder. To deactivate or switch between different types add a "-" to the folder of the parachutes that you don't want. All parachutes will be the same, including parafrag parachutes. It is not possible to customise Allies and Axis Parachutes to be different.

Below are the files in PSD format so you can make your own parachutes etc and also the necessary folders for the mod to work...

Instructions:
1. Paint what you want on it, fiddle around with the layers etc...
2 (OPTIONAL). If you want holes in your parachute you can edit the alpha channel layer.
3. Save as Parachute128.tga, check that alpha channels are saved and save as 32bit.
4. Resize Parachute128.tga to 64x64 and save as Parachute64.tga with the same options as No.3
5. Resize Parachute128.tga to 32x32 and save as Parachute32.tga with the same options as No.3
6. Put all 3 files into folder "Parachutes Repaint\3do\humans\Paratroopers\Chute"
7. Make sure Parachutes Repaint folder is in the MODS folder.
8. Start up IL2 and bail out!
