Here is a different Texture for DaveODO6's Wake map. The sand looks ok in the last texture but not very realalistic. It was more for fun. This texture isnt perfect either but I wanted to try a dead coral look with no vegitation. Thanks to Uufflakke I learned to make a BumpH for it. I hope you guys like it. PLEASE let me know any feed back good or bad.

Bombsaway, how did you make this map work? I mean, I downloaded it and it appears now in the list of maps in FMB, but I can't save a mission there... Maybe some object I don't have?  :(

Ok Dak here you go but you should go and download Dave's latest version here...

https://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,21638.0.html

I say this because in his latest version the land looks really good.
Because the old version is already in DBW you would have to extract the load.ini and hope he hasnt changed anything else like objects.
Now the simple way to get this version in your game is to rename the map folder from Western_Carolines  to Carolines. Then change the all.ini listing to...

Carolines_Mid_1944 Carolines/load_mid.ini
Carolines_Late_1944 Carolines/load.ini

and the map_ru listing to ....

Carolines_Mid_1944   Caroline Is. (Mid 1944)
Carolines_Late_1944  Caroline Is. (Late 1944)

It should now load in the game and his lastest version looks so much better. Dave's pacific maps are really great.

Now this texture is one that I released the other day but with changes to its wieght. Now its 1mb instead of 3mb and I made a BumpH for it as well. I think it looks ok. When I looked at the pics of the real islands, they dont have a lot of vegitation in the shollows so this is the best I have untill I can make a new one. :)

Here are the pics...

And here is the texture. Its only a stand in untill I can come up with a better one. I hope you like it. :)

Ok guys, one more attempt. I made this latest texture for Wake Island retextured by Dave0D06 but I also tried it in other maps such as Tarawa Expanded and Western Carolines. It doesnt have as much 3d detail as I do most of the time but I think it looks ok. Please give me any feed back good or bad so I can make improvements from your suggestions.

Wake.

Western Carolines.

Tarawa Expanded.

Also, I took the water entry that changes the ocean color from the Tarawa Expanaded maps load.ini

[WATER]
 Water    = water/PacificWater.tga
 WaterColorATI = 0.001 0.142 0.166
 WaterColorNV  = 0.140 0.185 0.268

and placed it in the Wake retextured's  load.ini because the Tarawa maps ocean color seems to bring out the best in this new texture.
