Try a carrier landing?
Did two test missions, the 1st one with a straight deck and the 2nd one
with an angle deck carrier.
Test 1
AI:
Makes good approach and touchdown but rolls off fwd. end of flight deck.
Player:
It's about timing, at touchdown chop the throttle, hit and hold the brakes and
the FJ will stop just before it reaches the fwd. elevator.

Test 2
AI:
Makes good approach and touchdown but rolls off the end of angle deck.
Player:
Forget it! The angle deck isn't long enough.

Need Tail Hook ;D

Bw.

Excellent news! It'll be great to finally be able to fly a proper version of this plane in Il-2!

Thanks !
Will it also have a fuel dump function ?
It is important for navy planes because they have to get minimal weight when landing on a carrier .

First time I've done this on a mod, easy enough.  Stops at 25%
I am not sure about the position, I could not find hard data. If anyone knows more, let me know.

(take note of the added shine to the skin)

While investigating, I found out that the current Panther pack 1.5 does not have this function, although they come packed with the typefueldump class...
One more thing to add for the upcoming BAT I guess.

So if anyone wonders "what's the holdup?"... all this shit you find along the way ;)

a byproduct for BAT...

There's good picture source on the location in this case

Looking at the F-86, I think this position is more correct:

Sometimes it sucks to be a test pilot

There were some wicked .mat files in the pack. They made meshes vanish under certain circumstances. It took a long time to figure out where this was coming from... ::(

Usually , the shok-absorber displacement of the the landing gear is very large on navy planes , to absorb the  impact when landing on the carrier .
Will it be visible on this plane ?
