Hello all, I am new to the forum. I made this account a very long time ago and decided to get back into modding 1946. So, I reinstalled the steam version and made a backup outside my program files folder. I go to run it and it does absolutely nothing. I searched discussion tabs on steam and dabbled on google looking for answers. Some users say that changing your config.ini file to match you screens resolution will help but it didn't help in my situation, also installing the DirectX in Commonredist folder did nothing. I even tried to verify the game files in steam and that came up clear am lost and I would really appreciate some help from you fine people of SAS. I used to be able to run this legendary sim perfectly at 4k with a ton of mods and hyperlobby it was great! I miss it so much...any ideas on what to do?

• Install the Direct 2 Drive Patch: https://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,1531.msg16863.html#msg16863
• Install latest Selector (unless you have it already, e.g. if you're using BAT): https://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,16403.0.html
• For modded games, use the backup copy outside "Program Files" folder.
• In that backup copy, where the "il2fb.exe" file is located, create a new subfolder "Quicks" (if it doesn't exist already)
• In that backup copy, where the "il2fb.exe" file is located, create a new subfolder "PaintSchemes" (if it doesn't exist already), and inside that subfolder, create a new subfolder "NetCache" (if it doesn't exist already)
• In that backup copy, where the "il2fb.exe" file is located, create a new subfolder "Missions" (if it doesn't exist already), and inside that subfolder, create a new subfolder "Net" (if it doesn't exist already), and inside that subfolder, create a new subfolder "Cache" (if it doesn't exist already)

If all of the above still doesn't help, run the startup debugger as explained here...

Hello Mike,

 thanks a lot for the help unfortunately none of that helped in my situation. I ran the cmd.exe with "console 2>&1 | tee startuplog.txt" and I get "IL-2 6Dof/TIR Enabled Executable for modded IL-2 Sturmovik 1946 has stopped working" instantly after pressing enter with that command.

My startuplog.txt is also completely blank.
