Author Topic: SOLVED: City Lights in Modded Night Flying Mission over Slovakia pulsing on and off  (Read 965 times)

Subject: Night mission with city and village lights created in un-modded version -
Greetings to All: Want to make my Night flying mission over Slovakia available..
BUT, when I open the mission in the modded version, specific city lights, (i.e the brightest white light - light #4, I believe ) pulses on and off. I think it's been modified as a running light because it's also on the back of my Gloster Gladiator pulsing on and off and wasn't there before..
Question: How can I make that light stop pulsing on and off - because the entire landscape..every village town and farm -  has pulsing lights as far as the eye can see..Interesting..but not very immersive.
2nd Question: The mission times out and crashes my GPU at about 15 minutes of flying and I was wondering if there's a time out setting for the lights causing it, or possibly the complexity of the map, or the "Static Time" toggle?
This is how it looks when it's working - imagine all those lights flashing on and off in unison at 1 second intervals..that's what I'm seeing.

Your question hears like Gurner FX's bad side effect.

How about adding Realistic Lights v1.5 ?

Solved
NOTE: I'm using 4.12.2  with appropriate upgrades and VP Modpack!
To stop lights from flashing,
In the file:
#SAS/STD/com/maddox/il2/objects/technics.ini
Change:

Code: [Select]
Smoke12:Mesh     3do/Arms/Null/mono.sim
Smoke12:Effect   3DO/Effects/Fireworks/FlareWhite.eff

to
 
Code: [Select]
Smoke12:Mesh     3do/Arms/Null/mono.sim
Smoke12:Effect   3DO/Effects/Fireworks/FlareWhiteStatic.eff

Cleaning up the mission and will post FMB code on my website. :)
