Walter, check your pms.

Nice picture, thank you. My late father was a proud veteran of WW2. He was the flight engineer in a C-47 attached to the 82nd airborne (I think). He dropped paratroops over D-Day among other exploits. He flew out of Greenham Commons at least part of the war. I wish I had written down more of the stories that he told me.

Thanks mate!

My father was born too late to see WW2 but I remember my uncle that was telling history of the North Africa where he was an artilleryman and after a 'torpedoed' prisoner....my grandfather also was a driver in East Africa and I still take a look at his exotic bw pictures of the wild (at that times) Abyssinia....

Still looking at the dynamic of DCG and not at the campaign itself....

Discovered how the game give me multiple choice of planes but unable to tell why....

When replacing the DGen files with your form campaign folder (campaign , planes and squadrons wit DeS id code) I thought that those 'll be the files used by DCG....BUT....after 'generate campaign' a new set of files (campaign , planes , squadron) is automatically generated with the code DE&....both campaign are selectable (not at the same time obvously) and both recognized from the DCG UI....

Now I have reinstalled your campign and not used your DGen files....to test....first mission correctly generated with a transfer flight....closed IL2 , opened DCG , edited parameters and generated a new mission , it has correct setting according new parameters: without transfer , base airfield Ecsalona , radio only for my unit , skins , loadouts....and so on....

I'll fly some missions in this condition to see if they are good while playing and if there are other issues or oddities like my loosing the war on third day of it....

Find the culprit....ME!

I was doing wrong initialization of the campaign because I misunderstood the readme....not your fault but mine....

Now I have univoque aircraft seleection (HE-51) and unit (II_JG1)....

Maybe this was the cause of my losing war each time at the 3rd day of fighting....

Just a question....escorting He-111 is giving me always airstart....but I dislike airstarts....

In my DCG configuration I have these condition:

1) The air start on DCG main bar 'Opitons' settings is NOT checked
2) In the waypoint setting panel (UI) I have enabled the option 'circling take off' to 'only escort and escorted'

Is the airstart while escorting correct or I have to change something like the WSP .... 'all bombers and escorts'?

Thanks in advance for your help!

When faced with an escort mission DCG will often (always?) do an airstart for the escorting fighters. This is a feature I do not particularly like but that's the way it is as far as I know.

On a related note, I would recommend that you check the Airstarts option. This increases the possibility of creating scramble missions in which the player needs to get airborne quickly to take on attacking enemy planes.

Thanks mate!

Got your point...modified the settings and enabled air start option....also set 'all bombers and escorts' circling waypoint option in WSP....I'll report how it'll behave in the next future....

In the meantime...here my faithful 6 at Navalcamero airfield waiting clearance to take off for a sweep....where I downed a D.510....

Have you found a way to get rid of the airstart missions?

Hi!

I have closed the campaign because I have ended the first knowledge studies....I'll restart again it in the autumn to understand other aspects....

In doing so I have done a lot of completed misison restart and got only airstart while escorting bombers....so I had take a look at the campaign files and dicovered how they airstart:

There is no settings culprit of airstart...He-111 were palced in an off map airfield....they airstart and so I airstart too....simply....
