« on: March 04, 2018, 09:37:52 AM »

Does anybody know what are the differences and possibilities among
Height Fill
Height blurr
Height Peek
in map builder aka unlocked FMB?
And how to work with them?

I have never been able to get any of those to work. Only the hight tool that places a red dot on the area you want to raise or lower. If someone does know how and what they do, I would like to know as well.

blurr does literally that, it levels a selected area

fill should work as fill option in ms paint - it affects a whole area with the same weight

I know about F+RMB levelling all the selected area, it works the same way with Peek and Fill.
Can you describe Blurr nearer, please?

You could use "Height Fill" like this:
Select the large area (8 x 8 ) and then "Ctrl" +mouse left click => everything will be flat and level. Move the cursor a bit (within the new flat zone) and "Ctrl" + mouse left click again => you have expanded the new flat area.
I do not like to use it but I think Okenavas does for his airfields. You get very weird results with shadows at dawn or fog in the morning. I prefer to edit by hand, in Gimp. To know where I am, I put a weird texture (like "City01"), in the middle of the airfield and overlay map_t above map_h.

For "Height Blur" same thing, select a large area (8 x 8 ) and then "Ctrl" +mouse left click => everything will be progressively blured like in Gimp or Photoshop. This is good for making more gentle relief after creating peaks or holes that are too steep/sharp.

"Height Peak" I do not use ...sorry.

Thanks, Zoran, I shall try blurr option.
That way with F pushed down I use when want to level all the area where I move the mouse.

Fill digs a hole. Peek raises a pointy little hill. Don't know about blur. I just use fill to mark a series of little black holes around an area and then I level and / or blur it in my graphics program.
