A winter version of the Transcaucasia map is under development_I. I make many objects in the winter version, as well as, for example, FuelTank- with snow-covered roofs. In the case of FuelTank, a strange effect is observed - at the maximum distance, the roof becomes only half snowy. What could it be? I would be obliged for advice.
And here is the folder:

In fact, all Slovakia fuel tanks (& many others objects) was redid in winter for Moscow-1942 winter map ver. & for Smolensk winter vers a few years ago. Claus did it too for his MidEast map.

The lakes seem not to have towns, so, ship movement would make no sense. Nice idea for a map though.

cheers

The summer version of three maps of the Transcaucasia was  released above in the present thread in post No 48, or in the first post of this thread.

The release of the winter version is here.

https://www.mediafire.com/file/fgqrfdqbgemkbyy/Zakavkazye_winter_map_I%252C_II%252C_III.7z/file

What's redone:
winter textures,
winter objects,
historical names of countries,
river names.

Thank you so much for this excellent work!

Seems to be normal for default mapping style for this object, when the range changes, the mapping area also changes with the lod, it's all right and it's should be by default

Here's the fast fix of tga files

Uhm, 3.5 GB of excess data for the winter maps alone...
I'm afraid I don't have the stomach anymore to sort the really necessary things out of this heap.

... 3.5 GB of excess data for the winter maps alone...
1. all files in _Tex folder are required by  the files loadw.ini.
2. by allowing overwrite the folders in 3do folder of the user, only excess data necessary for winter versions of the three map will be added.
3. duplicities remain only in much smaller static.ini file. Their removal would require a program capable to compare not only words or lines but whole paragraphs. This is the challenge for anybody  capable of creating it.

Great looking map, I very much enjoy the summer versions. (I don't like snow anyway)

Sorting out the necessary static.ini lines to add, from this list of thousands of surplus entries given is exactly what I have no interest in doing, sorry.
3do folder alone: 2,96 GB. This is surplus weight I also don't want to sort.

This is nothing against you, Uzin, your maps are top notch :)
I just want to explain why I won't integrate this instance into BAT, since the question was raised.
If the package was sorted into "new winter content and lists", then it'll be different.

I had the same problem with integrating into my 4.12 Mod Act game, I tried to sort just winter stuff out but gave up in the end and just added the supplied static to the end of my existing one so creating a bigger mess in there than there already was, the maps did save though. ;)

I do wonder how my ModAct install keeps going with the abuse it has had. o_O

The objects supplied I just add into a existing objects folder I had specific to the map, topped it up so to speak, I will one day get around to sorting it all out.  :-[

Recently I went through all my skins, deleted the high res ones and any old stand in files for aircraft we now have and saved around 30 gig just in the one install, add that to my spare ModAct game and B.A.T and it was quite a saving in space. :o

Lovely maps all the same but I have to agree it would be better if the download only included stuff specific to the update to winter in objects and entries as it is so difficult to sort it all out and add to a existing static.

Take care and be safe.

Wishing you all the very best, Pete. ;D
