Stabs4All Not Working in BAT
« on: December 05, 2017, 12:12:01 PM »

For whatever reason, Stabs4All isn't working in JTW or WAW. I have the JSGME mods for each one enabled, but aircraft that don't have level stabilizers, like the F-51 or Typhoon Mk. IA, don't work.

deactivate them in JSGME and you can even delete them from BATMODS completely.

These are old remnants and not needed anymore. Stabs4all is automatically integrated in BAT in all modules. Just assign a key and you are ready to go.

So, it turns out this didn't work. Deleting the old mods.

I guess I may be lost, proweather you didn't follow the instructions installing BAT did you?

Stabs4All works in every era in my install

MiG 19's are in my BAT install

A-7's and F-8's are in my BAT install

Question why are you wanting to add planes which are already there?

My suggestion would be to D/L again and follow the instructions (which are very easy since there is an installer that does it for you).

quoting from user ecf111:

"I just went through all of this, and this is a good time to share my soultion on a fresh install. Stabs4all is integrated into BAT, as of one of the old service packs, 7 I think. You have to add lines to the config file:
[MODS]
Stab4all=1

Delete jgsme options from the BATMODS folder completely and don't use, simply not enabling them didn't work for me.

It's easy to miss if you're installing fresh, the info is only in the BAT 7 expansion manual and at the link:
https://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,54269.0.html"

I made the same thread a few weeks ago, and this fixed it for me

If I am free to say.

I happened to have my main Bat directory folder open when I activated the JSGME #WAW_00-Stabs4All Mod before I started BAT.

When I activated the WAW Stabs Mod with JSGME the !!Stabs4all folder that normally is "created" in whichever Era Module folder it was activated for appeared in my main BAT directory folder rather than the Era Module folder it was intended to be created in.

The reason this happened I tend to believe is because each Era Mod folder now ends with a number 3 not a number 2.

The 00-Stabs4All Mod Folders in the BATMODS Folder at present (Angels High SP3) are still #DOF2, #JTW2, #TGA2 and #WAW2.

As a result JSGME couldn't find the correct Era Mod folder to place the !!Stabs4all folder in because JSGME was unable to "overwrite" the #WAW3

To rectify the problem I went into the BATMODS folder, opened the WAW 00-Stabs4All folder, changed the number 2 to a 3 and then the Stabs Mod found the correct directory (i.e. #WAW3) when it was "activated" via JSGME. I tested it and all was "Peachy Keen".

I also of course changed the numbers of the other Era Stabs Mods as well.

Hope this helps any still scratching their heads about the matter.

Don't use JSGME for Stabs4All in BAT. Other workarounds may cause problems which defeat the whole point of BAT. It's hard to find, but they describe how to make it work in the Expansion 7 manual, see quoted post above.

I did follow the instructions to install BAT. I just wanted the new Vought pack and MiG-19 pack, which have more aircraft than we already have.

Perfect. The instructions in Expansion 7 Manual say delete the mods and add the lines to the config file, and stabs4all works in BAT. It took me a second to realize I had to go through every expansion manual again on a fresh install. It's easy to assume starting at Charlie and it's instructions are all there is, or that the config file would be changed and the mods deleted from the BATMODS folder with the latest updates.

Should have nothing to do with adding more mods, Stabs4all works in BAT if you add the config lines and delete the folders in BATMODS.
