Russian Empire Music
« on: November 03, 2017, 12:52:03 PM »

... I was rebuilding my Il2 , you know when the mouse battery gets low and it starts dragging files around....

My user file default.ini just disappeared... so moving along with extra long saves, deletes, and pastes. until I discovered
where the issue was, I submerged into loud Il2 Music... oblivious of the phone desperate attempts to reach me.... Bliss.
Annoying for the neighbors, but Bliss     Russian Empire Music !

Cant sleep without it. Cant sleep with it either. Wake up call: time to raise the volume!

... I mixed these into this one song, long time ago, hope you like:

Thank you.
It's probably too pompous for continious in-flight music but why not to try it occasionally. Just to boost one's spirit sitting in open cockpits of those strange and fragile machines of WWI era.  ;)

While flying for Russian Empire in my crazy alternate history missions of WWII, I play Russian emigree songs of 1920-1940s just for "atmosphere". Something of Alexander Vertinsky as:

Or various others:

And there is one eternal classic which fits well into any epoch of "true old Russia", real history or alternate:

OK --- I must add---  For maps without radio or Beacon and aircrafts that don't require Beacons:

... I use JSGME mods featuring the Crash InFlight TakeOff music: ground airfield sounds or ground jungle environment or ship carrier ambiance; with Flight battle radio chatter for the area; and dirge music by Nation for crashes,...
( the ground sounds are of crude assemblage, I must say, but they work for me in an 'alpha' way... )

List of my JSGME mods:
Code: [Select]
#DBW_Forgotten Countries Full           <-- this one requires custom regiments.ini in XTD \ PaintSchemes
MusicDE__samples              <--- Airfield
MusicGB__samples              <--- Airfield
MusicJA_samples               <--- Jungle
MusicJN_samples               <--- Carrier
MusicRN_samples               <--- Carrier
MusicRU_samples               <----Airfield + <---------------------- Russian air battle radio chatter for InFlight.
MusicUM_samples               <--- Jungle
MusicUN_samples               <--- Carrier
MusicUS_samples               <--- Airfield
.. sample song of my Russian Crash file: https://www.mediafire.com/file/25wt6vwfouhw5vk/013aCrashRUS.zip

Good idea about music for RLA. It make sense since we have no Russian Empire on "blue" side.

To Dimlee   Good day to you, sir !
...in your 'Or various others' bunch ( 4/5th of the 1hr way.. at 51:18 ) I found a song with a surprising modern reprise:
[ wiki: new lyrics on romance song "Dorogoi dlinnoyu" ,  literally "By the long road" . ]

.. which sounded very familiar to me from my 1960's hippie time of MARY HOPKIN.
( also in DALIDA's song répertoire ).

"Those were the days", as I recall, was a 1968 Apple record's ( Beattles ) stereo ( novelty) release in 45rp;
it had on reverse side the song "Turn, Turn, Turn". But that's not the one that come to my mind, more vividly:
rather it is this version: "C'était le temps des fleurs, on ignorait la peur ... ... les lendemains avaient un gout de miel !"
Check this out, goose bumps guaranteed ! :

.. "oh yes those were the days !"

Hubberranz,
thank you for reminding about this song.
Indeed, Dorogoy Dlinnouyu can be considered as one of the "most Russian" of all Russian songs.

Hi again ! Check this: https://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,57212.0.html

This places Russia as the 4th largest economy in the world in 1914 ! Russia  was building railroads and the central powers were afraid !
