Thank you. I have the 16 part download, plus PaintSchemes, patch, patch_new1 and patch_new2. Is there more I have missed?

You need the 16 part base pack and two patches:

The first one you already have, the second replaces patch_new1/2/3/4.

Thank you. So if i just get the new patch2 and delete the old ones, except patch, I should be ok to reinstall? Do I still need PaintSchemes?

Yes, you can reinstall the patches anytime. The skins are optional.

OK, I've got the new patch. Now, just to make absolutely sure, I extract everything into the main IL-2 folder of a new unmodded 4.12.2, overwriting if asked, and finish up by editing the conf.ini?

Did you get it to work?
I create and edit my missions in the FULL MISSION BUILDER - (FMB)
I never use the Quick Mission Builder ( QMB ) - I like to place objects for immersion and cameras everywhere to get my video rushes and choreograph a lot of AI planes.
Also,  I make my videos from the playback of the mission recording after I fly the entire mission.

I discovered that the 70th Bombardment B-26 Marauder squadron was on Guadalcanal - at Henderson Field  - in January of 1943.
carrying out raids against "Washing Machine Charley" at Retaka Bay on the island of Santa Isabel.
Operations by the 70th in the Solomon Islands will be the subject of the next mission and video.

I haven't really explored yet, but it seems ok so far. New a/c and maps are there, and the QMB seems to work. Thank you for the help.

Well, I think I am pretty well there now. Default QMB missions wouldn't load until I realised that I had to specify a map, and I had a bit of bother with the display resolution, but that seems ok now too. The only remaining thing is that screenshots insist on saving as tga rather than jpg, even though I have set the ScreenshotType=1 in the conf.ini, which works in my other install. Any ideas, please?

Hi!

When I need a screenshot I just use the "PrintScreen" key on the keyboard ..not the in-game toggle.
And although Windows 10  allows me to stream and grab video segments while in the game..I don't use it.
I use FRAPS, a downloadable ap, to create my videos from the mission playback and it has a screenshot feature as well.
It may not be the best and it costs a little money - and I'm not sure if it's available in some of the regions where SAS members live.
And one just has to make sure they have all their controls and keyboard mapped accordingly.

Thanks, but I just mean a simple straightforward screenshot in a simple format. I could always use GrabClipSave, but i wanted something within the game, as in other versions I have. PrintScreen works, but by default saves in tga format in MyScreenshots.

I definitely forget that many people can't get Photoshop or want to jump through the hoops.
I can't even bootleg it on my new system..
