Fiat G. 56 - bad vibrations at speeds over 500 KPH TAS
« on: May 13, 2010, 04:01:00 PM »

I've got SAS offline Buttons 5.5B. I flew the Fiat G.56 today and noticed that the aircraft vibrates and shakes considerably over 500 KPH, specifically around 550-600 KPH TAS at low altitude.  Those sort of vibrations and shakes don't happen on the G. 55 Late until over 700 KPH TAS! I never noticed that when flying the G. 56 before. Perhaps I didn't fly fast enough at low altitude to notice before. But, perhaps something screwy has happened to the G. 56 FM in the latest SAS buttons?

nope, still the same as from the previous buttons. It was updated in buttons 5.3 to the same as the new UP2.01 Patch standard.
I will have a look at it.

I saw what you mean, althout I pushed it to 700Km/h and heard the vibrations, I dont have force feedback so it is not so noticeable to me. I did not see anything obvious in the FM that would cause this, perhaps someone from UP can have a look at it.

Thanks for looking at it CirX. I don't have force feedback either, but the landscape view seems to oscillate as I fly along. I just thought that it was weird that the G. 56 exhibits the shaking characteristics at 500 or so KPH that most aircraft show at over 700 KPH. From my limited knowledge of the real G. 56, it didn't have any vibration problems associated with the engine. I hope someone associated with UP can look at it.

it may also be classfile related. The g56 was one of Josse's ones as I recall, and he did a lot of experimenting with advanced features in classfiles.

Ah, ok. I wouldn't be terribly surprised if the vibrations are intentional. The G. 56 is also modeled with a lot of engine torque. I need lots of rudder input to keep her going straight. So, perhaps Josse really wanted you to get the feel that the G. 56 had a lot of power.
