  • The last one - P.11c

I decided to put this new separate topic, when people revealed that it is general sound problem, not only for P11c with Kumpel's mod (as I was thinking first).
After using starter in some planes (P11c, P24, PWS-10, Fiat CR32, Avia Ba122, RWD-8, Letov S328, F4U-1, -1A, -1C, and -1D, BF 109 G10, BF 109 K4) in WAW module (BAT07 - clean setup), its sound is heard constantly in the background (even when engine is stopped).
Confirmed by independent users:

Problem is rather strange, because affected aircrafts in the same setup, but in TGA module work perfect (for example P11c, PWS-10, Fiat CR32, Avia Ba122).
Suggestions please?

Thanks in advance,

Bumping this topic! Tonoght I tested quite a few (ca 30) AC in QMB and all of them had this concistent startup sound. Still sounding after engin shutdown! In some ACs the sound was rather noisy, the Barracuda, in some very muffeled, only heard after shutdown, the Ginga. For most the sound is like a background repeating annoying noise! Can some sound guru please take a look to this!

I cant be 100% sure but I think this may help  https://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,54395.0.html

Victors sound mod is pretty good. How I installed it in BAT WAW was to put the folder #00_1VictorSONDMod_4.12 into the WAW folder but that was so I could also get the wing fold sound to work that was not working in BAT. You can load it through the JSGME as per his instrutions. If you read his thread it will explain how to load the wing fold sound if you want it.

Try this mod because I went and test the P11c, P24and the PWS-10 and the starter sound stops when the engine turns on and there is no sound after you turn off the engine.

Thank you for your help. I put the folder into !SAS_Engine_Mod in #WAW2. It works!  :)

Thank you Victor.  But, I haven't been able to get the wing fold sound to work in BAT.  At least not in the F4U-1A that I tried it on...

what I did it wouldnt work untill I renamed the !!!!!!Winfold folder to " !      !!!!Wingfold " so that it loaded all the way at the top of the WAW folder. I'm not sure what mod or file was over riding it but it works.

I have the same problem with the starter sound.
I just ran IL-2 with CUP and soundset03 (Tiger33s sounds), and there the starter turns off as soon as the engine is running. I tried to put the soundset03 into BAT but the starter sound still won't disappear (or the soundset03 just isn't accepted from BAT.
Hope someone will fix this issue with the "stock" sounds of BAT, Tigers Sounds are great! :D

Doh!  It didn't occur to me to change the priority.  I added the wing fold files to the VSM folder but didn't change the name of the VSM folder.  The only thing before it was the Engine Mod so that must be what stops it from working.  All good now!

Thanks!

I came to the same conclusion. That it needs to load before the engine mod but wanted to wait and see if anyone found the same. I dont know why the engine mod over rides it.
