Ok

Progress, I have a fresh clean 12.2M install and a backup of it. I presume there is a patch file somewhere on M4T that I can dl for 13.3, but how/where do I get a 10.1 install? Is there a roll-back I can apply?

I don't believe there is a rollback. You have to start from an earlier version and patch up to the version you want. That is why I mentioned earlier that it's a good idea to keep an old backup install, like 4.07 or 4.08 so you can always have the ability to make a 4.10 install if you need to. It's not a lot of work to patch from 4.07 to 4.10 or 12.

Do you have the IL-2 CD-ROM, or do you download it from somewhere else?

Here's a link to all the patch downloads: http://www.mission4today.com/index.php?name=Downloads&c=605
On this page you will see a "MegaPatch" which goes from stock out-of-the-box to 4.12.2. I've never used it, but can be useful if you'd like to give it a try. Keep in mind that once you go above 4.10, you will no longer be able to use DBW, UP3, old HSFX, etc unless you make another install.

I have all the patches and most of the modpacks backed up on my computer just in case M4T goes down when I need it! Not really necessary I guess, just a precaution.  :)

If the plan is to install Ultrapack, there's a simple guide explaining how to do it "on top" of a 4.12.2m game here:
https://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,48900.0.html

What's written there applies to 4.13.x in the very same way.

You can usually "downgrade" an existing game of any version by simply installing the official patch of your desired target version on top of the existing one.
E.g. your game is version 4.12.2m and you want to get a 4.10.1 game, just install patch 4.10.1 on top.

Best regards - Mike

Interesting. I did not know this. I could have saved myself a lot of time if I knew this a year ago!

There are no contradicting effects from the 4.12/4.11 files? Or do the 4.10 patch files overwrite them?

Thank you Mike!

Done and dusted. Just need to figure out how to get the screen res set to something higher than 640 x 480 without crashing the game :-)

There are often issues when changing the resolution in-game. Is this how you were attempting it? I've seen this with almost all the modpacks I've tried, and it's a very common issue. You simply need to change the resolution from the conf.ini file in your root directory. Make sure the file is not "read only".

Code: [Select]
[window]
width=1920
height=1080

There are a few other entries that could affect it. Not all these are probably applicable, but give this a whack if the first solution doesn't work:

Just set these entries under [window]
Code: [Select]
ChangeScreenRes=1
FullScreen=1
DrawIfNotFocused=1
EnableResize=0
EnableClose=1
SaveAspect=0

No guarantee these are the "correct" entries. All I can say is that this works for me.
