check the left hand HUD tape - at about 40 seconds the pilot switches to guns and his aiming 'funnel' appears, illustrating what my tired mind tried to describe last night.

Storebror is right. I don't know as much as he does, but I don't know why anyone expects more out of the F-86. There was, to my knowledge, no gunnery funnel incorporated into the sight. the ranging radar was very small and primitive. I'd say the aircraft is modeled well in-game.

Thanks BaronFel ;)

All fine and granted.
That's what I meant by writing:
Mind you: We're not talking about fance 90s gunsights plotting your opponent's estimated flight path on the sight.

The video you've shown is from RAAF F-18 Hornets in 2007.
At that time, the RAAF Hornets have completed their full "Hornet Upgrade Programme" to Phase 2.2, with new Computer Systems, new AN/APG-73 radar etc.

The AN/APG-73 went operational in 1992.
The AN/APG-30 which we're talking about here went operational in 1950.

Expecting a 1950s radar to provide 1990s features is a bit odd, isn't it?

Best regards - Mike

lol i told you i was tired, re-read back to the beginning and realised the whole thread was about 50's fighters with radar ranged gunsights... my bad, either way the 80's + sights do look cool when they switch to gun mode
