Simon, maybe there is something wrong with the #WAW 3DO-Fixes Arms folder
both in WAW-pt22 and the Leo-451 Upgrade above:

there are several "lost" msh and tga files in the arms folder
but not in defined weapons subfolders as it should be imho.
But maybe I am wrong with this?

Also the Leo-451 Upgrade comes with wrong folder hierarchy
when members choose "overwrite" as install option:
The Classes-Objects folder is not inside in the #WAW folder.
Any reason for this?

Thank you Gerhard, much appreciated.

Only one reason SNAFU! - re-uploaded the LEO-451 Fix! - The same link has been overwritten and it is now in the correct layout.

The truncated Arms folder only corrects a few tiny issues, with the 10g bombs, that I had noticed.  This struture forces the Mod folder to load the correct examples.  The full information, that is read normally in 99% of cases, is compressed into SFS format within SFS_WAW and works just fine.  Very occasionally a mesh or texture fails to show up as expected.  This is a consequence of the size of the SFS content, the load order with so many different modules and the growing complexity of the information.  Even CUP cannot evade the JAVA wall forever.  Every now and again the 3DO-Fixes folder is used to nudge a reluctant mesh or texture to to top of the load order.

After these wonderful upgrades Simon, what did you have in mind for the immediate future of cup,to consolidate and improve what we already have before any more additions?.already a massive achievement.....just wondered was there a limit to cup approaching.kev.

What are you phychic? Or do you just read the threads thoroughly you insightful man?

Yes we can tidy it up, consolidating what works we can actually eliminate 75% from duplicated downloads and restore points and jump a new user straight to this point.  This is also a good backup facility for everyone else.  However, we also have plans for something even bigger and more spectacular than that!  Driving the new project are the goals to consolidate, reduce bulk and simplify.

Updates will continue:  There is a lot more to come, particularly developments in the Jet Age.  I am not anticipating their completion just yet; but I do know there are some great projects underway that are going to keep this sim in place as my all time favourite.

Over two years this small team has also learned a LOT.  We began as an experiment, using new tools and structures.  By this time; we know a little more...  ;)

We also have a hard core of CUP flyers now who have raised their game.  I have seen so many reluctant mod users getting into it and so many experienced players helping to lift them up.  The occasional whinger complains that SAS is unhelpful to new users. - A very disingenuous statement in the face of the evidence on these forums.

Yeah - CUP flyers do expect a little more than the average...  ;D

Ya gotta love Christmas in November  ;D

There have been so many gifts over the last couple of days that I'm having a hard time trying to catch up on all the downloads but I'm sure it will be well worth it when I do.

Glad to hear and see that what you and the team have learned hasn't gone to waste Simon. You all have made my flying experiences that much better and It's nice to know that Cup is getting a slim down. Perhaps we could call it " Cup Lite ".  :D

As to those that have issues with Cup it's simply a matter of "RTFM".

Thanks again for everything,

Well the manual should be interesting and helpful with regard to all of the new features.  There is lots to do and many more aircraft systems to operate within the sim environment.

However, I do want to eliminate the need to understand anything just in order to install.

Requirements are: Working Il2-1946 - SAS Superpatch to 4:12:2m - CUP UnRAR/UnZIP in sequence.

That is it and we can get it down to about 25 parts (that's everything).

Until then I am going to re-do the CUP REQUIREMENTS section to show all users how the material may be very swiftly installed, in sequence, from un-modded to fully modded in one go.  I actually did just that, on a new drive, last week.  The most annoying thing on a brand new install was configuring all my keys again.  But it did smell of new leather and gun oil...

- Just give me half an hour to write it and have a sandwich.  :)

The CUP REQUIREMENTS section looks now better and sounds easier than ever!

A CUP 1.0, CUP2 or whatever you want to name it is what is needed at one point, and keep building up from there. We all will have the same base install and campaign creators and modders can share 'certified CUP version X' campaigns and mods.

Expectations are high, specially with the upcoming super-cool-next-jet-thing you keep in your hat! Yes, TOO MANY exciting comments lately about what is to come, cannot wait!  ;D

Well done simon the new cup install must be the clearest and straightforward of installs I've ever seen,it appeared to me that the confusion that bothered some downloaded was the restore points,I never had a problem with them it was a matter of following clear instructions, but now nobody can quibble with this install of cup, a piece of cake.again very well done mate.kev.

Hi, sorry to be a spoilsport, but I have a small issue in my CUP WAW install. I'm completely up to date with WAW#22 and all MME parts. The  issue I have is with the cockpit of the Spitfire Mk Vb Trop and the Spitfire Mk Vb floatplane; apple greeen upper cowling and missing frame on the left side:

And there's some mix-up with the weapons.ru; the SpitfireMkVbt is named SpitfireMkVbtrop:

################################################################################
# NoAirIni #####################################################################
# SpitfireMkVbTrop ## SPITFIRE5BT ### "$SpitfireMkVbTrop" #### 194101--194606
################################################################################
SpitfireMkVbTrop.default                Default
SpitfireMkVbTrop.1x500                  1 x 500 lbs. (RAF) Bomb
SpitfireMkVbTrop.2x250                  2 x 250 lbs. (RAF) Bombs
SpitfireMkVbTrop.2x250dt30              2 x 250 lbs. Bombs + 1 x 30 gal. Droptank
SpitfireMkVbTrop.2x250dt45              2 x 250 lbs. Bombs + 1 x 45 gal. Droptank
SpitfireMkVbTrop.1x500lb                1 x 500 lbs. (US) Bomb
SpitfireMkVbTrop.2x250lb                2 x 250 lbs. (US) Bombs
SpitfireMkVbTrop.2x250lbdt30            2 x 250 lbs. + 1 x 30 gal. Droptank
SpitfireMkVbTrop.2x250lbdt45            2 x 250 lbs. + 1 x 45 gal. Droptank
SpitfireMkVbTrop.1x30dt                 1 x 30 gal. Droptank
SpitfireMkVbTrop.1x45dt                 1 x 45 gal. Droptank
SpitfireMkVbTrop.none                   Empty

And so doesn't show its load-out correctly and also there's a load-out for Knochenklutschers Mk Vb Trop:

#####################################################################
# SPITFIREVbTrop
#####################################################################
SPITFIREVbTrop.default                   Default
SPITFIREVbTrop.1x500                     1x RAF 500 lb. HE Bomb

And that one isn't in the game, entry doesn't any harm. To have the load out of the Mk Vb trop displayed correct copy past the one below over the existing one. Back-up your files first.

################################################################################
# SpitfireMkVbt ## SPITFIRE5BT ### "$SpitfireMkVbT" #### 194101--194606
################################################################################
SpitfireMkVbT.default                Default
SpitfireMkVbT.1x500                  1x500 lbs. (RAF) Bomb
SpitfireMkVbT.2x250                  2x250 lbs. (RAF) Bombs
SpitfireMkVbT.2x250dt30              2x250 lbs. Bombs + 1 x 30 gal. Droptank
SpitfireMkVbT.2x250dt45              2x250 lbs. Bombs + 1 x 45 gal. Droptank
SpitfireMkVbT.1x500lb                1x500 lbs. (US) Bomb
SpitfireMkVbT.2x250lb                2x250 lbs. (US) Bombs
SpitfireMkVbT.2x250lbdt30            2x250 lbs. + 1 x 30 gal. Droptank
SpitfireMkVbT.2x250lbdt45            2x250 lbs. + 1 x 45 gal. Droptank
SpitfireMkVbT.1x30dt                 1x30 gal. Droptank
SpitfireMkVbT.1x45dt                 1x45 gal. Droptank
SpitfireMkVbT.none                   Empty

I concur with Henkypenky.  Also, most of the Spit Vb has disappearing wing on panning while zoom out.  I havent check the other Spit version.

NOT AN ISSUE - Simply JSGME activate - #WAW_Config03-SPIT Vb

#WAW_Config03-SPIT Vb Trop

Load the cockpit fix for the Spitfire MkVb Trop, 1941.

The reason is that the very old mods don't play well with the others.  All other Spits are OK and the Vb Trops are there for the AI.  If you want to fly the Trop, activate the option first and your cockpit will be fine.

The phenomena and the solution have been known for some time and the fix available from Part-21.  To be fair though it hasn't been high-lighted clearly or explained this succinctly.  So now we have!

I think its an acceptable workaround because we can only fly one aircraft at a time.  However, with JSGME rationalisation, going forward, there will be fewer such options in the future - not so cluttered.  I actually have 4 options now for #WAW, this is one of them that will stay.

Oops, your right Simon, I knew this but had the idea - don't know where from - that this was fixed  :-[ A good solution IMHO would be to replace 'your' Vb Trop with Knochenklutschers VB Trop. This one was made
