Did you hand paint the textures area by area and tile by tile?
It sure looks like it.  ;D :)
If so, I know what major effort and time went in to this map.

Very cool looking map! It has actually inspired me to start research on my next DCG Campaign Project - The Afrika Korps Air Force. I am finishing up testing and tweaking my Kanal Front '41 - '43 Campaign using GilB57's Western Front 39-45 Maps (...which I plan to release when I feel it won't get laughed it too much).

Question - does anyone know how to add this map manually to CUP or would it be best to be patient and wait?

I have not added it to CUP but I added it to the Vp Media pack. The install was straight forward following Fatty Finns instructions and the CUP install should be the same. I tried to do a DCG campaign myself but had to abandon it due to AI crashing into the ground constantly.  I hope you have better luck!  It is a fun map.

Thanks vonofterdingen! I saw Fatty Finns instructions but I didn't see the _Tex folder in #WAW so that is where I was stumped. I will take another look at it.

I am at work right now but I will check it when I get home. I think the texture folder goes in mapmods/maps.

Yes, the folder goes directly under maps: \[IL-2 CUP directory]\#WAW\MAPMODS\Maps\_Tex

You'd be safer creating a JSGME install into #WAW - as you 'll prob need to delete a direct entry under MAPMODS when the new update arrives!

yes- I am thinking of another map. But where?
I do love obscure places-  but I would also like the next map to be more useful to mission builders.
In that vein:  suggestions will be duly considered!  Is there any place we still lack?

Otherwise: thanks to this thread [above] for instructions on getting new maps into WAW.
I'm becoming a CUP newb myself - & just amazed at the fantastic world all our brilliant modders have created, in the CUP.
Being a sim pilot is hard work, though.    Much harder than my usual occupation here, as "sim plane-spotter" !
