Tobias, I'm running 4.11 version and this little jewel didn't crash me to desk top after I loaded her. Appears to run fine. Thanks a bunch. ;D

I never heard of a Spitfire actually carrying 4x 20mm + 4x .303s. As far as i know, the so-called 'Universal' C-wing had provisions to mount either 8x .303 (like the A-wing, in practice never used), 2x 20mm + 4x .303 (like the B-wing, and the most often used armament setup on C-winged Spitfires) or 4x 20mm (a new loadout specific to C-wing, but with most being quickly converted in the field to B-wing type armament due to number of reasons).

For what i understand, the Malta field mod consisted of removing 2 cannons from a 4x 20mm C-winged Spitfire leaving them only with 2x 20mm, with no .303s, similar to the modifications done on their Hurricane Mk.IICs (also originally 4x 20mm, but soon reduced to just 2x 20mm with bombracks also deleted).

Having said that, the fact that i never heard of such a loadout being used on Spitfires does not mean it never existed. The different field modifications with regards to armament and other equipment used on WWII warplanes are something of a fascination to me, so if you have a good source which would confirm the 4x 20mm + 4x .303 loadout it would be much appreciated here! :)
