Sorry to hear that, I'll try sth.
But no guarantee it can work.

Stay tuned

Thank you very much for these, they were badly needed. I wonder why they are in the WIP section.

I had no clue about future compatibillity when created.
I was not even running CUP at that time.
Later it worked in CUP, before my retirement I recoded all my WIP and Final Mod slots to
fit BAT, these and other previously not released Files are forwarded to Monthy.
I dunno if he's back or these newer versions forgotten by the Dev team???

I installed them and they work perfectly in the BAT 3.4 version.

I also did some improvements (new wheels and pilots), also I corrected the spinner. ok I know that you wanted to represent early Vc with the round spinner, but the one, later type we have has a different shape, myself I did not even know that they were Vcs with the early type spinner, in my mind this spinner is accosiated with early Mk Vb with the Merlin 45.

Actually this is my only objection, it makes much more sense to represent a slightly later Mk Vc with the Merlin 50 (so no more problem with negative Gs) and the more pointy spinner, much more were made (at least, this is my impression). In any case you filled a gap that was there, excellent idea.

SpitfireMkVc4xHN
SpitfireVC.fmd > Spitfire-LF-Vb-M45M-18.fmd

SpitfireMkVcN
spitfirevb+12lbs.fmd > Spitfire-HF-Vb-M46-16.fmd

SpitfireMkVcLFCLPN
spitfirevbcw+16lbs.fmd

Red FMs are what you see are Merlin 45s in this published Mod.
Blue are alternate versions I did back then.
The difference was marginal, to say not worth a dime.

Kind Regards
Tobias

oh thanks for sharing, very interesting!

My last question with a topic that creates a lot of confusion, when the resistant to negative g carburators were finally implemented and how spread was their use, do you have any idea?

Not in these early VCs. These came up on later production batches with the VC.
But some Czech/Polish units I think got Engine Upgrades and Clipped Wings done.
This only as they where primed for Britain Homeland defense. Haven't heard of
a retrofitting abroad, other than Engine upgrades with already new Carburators
(i.e. high alt. Flight Aboukir).

Thank you, this is very informative.

In general we were taught for decades that the Spitfire IX was a huge leap forward in comparison with the Spitfire V, but the reality is different, a late production Vc was a much better combat plane than an early Va and so much worse (but definetely worse...) than an early Merlin 61 IXc.
It's nice that through IL-2:1946 we can follow this gradual process of evolution.

A new Update to RC, tackled some infernal Tests with the VC Cockpit not opening Canopies and proper FMs.
Somehow I keep getting trouble at this function when used at certain FM. A solution maybe building up
a new VC Pit class. The stock VC Pit class is a terrible castrated thing. Will tackle that somehow.

Please make a clean Install, first Post updated. New Skins are added, historical for these Variants.

Have a nice Day
